 forcasters are saying it may snow here (sarasota, florida) saturday. :woohoo: i do miss the snow, i'm originally from ohio, but have been in sarasota for 21 years. we did have some flurries here on christmas eve the first year i was here. i remember everybody freaking out and leaving the stores to see it, but it didn't excite me because, like i said, it was my first winter out of ohio. i didn't realize it would take over 20 years for it to happen again!!
my kids are so excited! they are acting like we're gonna have a blizzard or something!!!!!! :rotfl:

I live in North Central Florida, but am currently in Jacksonville. Everyone is talking about the possibility of "snow," but I'm not seeing it. It's currently 45 degrees. The forecast for Friday and Saturday only says highs of 41-44 and possible rain. I'll believe it when I see it, I guess. ;)

We had some snowflakes a couple of years ago here. I only knew about it because they announced it on the news. I went outside and could see them in the street light. Of course, they never made it to the ground.

My poor brother - a transplant from the northeast.. If it snows down there, I think he'll literally CRY..:rotfl:

If I never saw snow again it wouldn't hurt my feelings. I look forward to retirement so I can head south!

Florida has had some incredibly cold weather lately. We were there over Christmas and it was COLD. Didnt stop my kids from swimming. We were talking to the limo guy and he said nah you wont see snow here. Think I'll give him a call.:rotfl:

I feel like I need to sit on my porch all day tomorrow waiting for the possibility of this monumental event.

Or I could stay inside where it's warm. Hmmmmm....

I think the strong desire to get photos will keep me looking out the windows at least!

I'm with your limo guy. I remain unconvinced!

I'm in Sarasota too.... originally from northern WI.

I will be more than happy to send you some snow!!! :thumbsup2

I know I live in the north and I know we get snow for winter. It's really getting ridiculous. This has been a few weeks of having awful commutes at least every other day. My 45 minute ride home has taken me 3+ hrs too many times in the last few weeks to count. Woke up again today to another few fresh inches of snow and they're calling for a "messy" drive home today too. Go figure!

I live in the Pensacola area and it's 27 degrees right now and very windy. I hope it snows!

I'm in Bradenton. DH and I both think it won't snow. I'm praying that it doesn't. Had enough of that in TX at Christmas!

I'm in Gainesville and I'm NOT a happy camper about this weather.

If it snows, I will cry. Not kidding.

I really don't want to hear that your brother is crying, but i just had to say that your post is hysterical! :rotfl:

I grew up in Jacksonville. We had snow 2 times that I can remember, once, in the early-mid 70's then in 93 - although that was more ice than anything else. Maybe once more that I can't remember right now.

We moved to TN in 2000- moved in January - we drove a huge moving truck here, got most everything into the house, and went to sleep, planning to finish the next day - woke up the next morning, and EVERYTHING was covered with snow! More than I had ever seen in my life!

Now, we get it 3-4 times a year, usually a few inches that go away rather quickly. We got a couple of inches yesterday, but it has been 30 and below for the past 6 days and will not get above that until Monday afternoon, so I think it's here to stay for awhile!

A few years back we went to pick up DH's new truck, I think it was 2007, we were driving down Rt 50 in Orlando and I remarked that the rain was really weird and gloppy. Radio guy comes on and announces that it's snowing! So now I know what snow looks like!:lmao: I remember seeing the Ponce Inlet lighthouse on the news that night and it was really coming down there, even coated the ground a little. I just wish it would warm up, enough already.

the paper said the last time it snowed in the Tampa area was 1977. We're on the coast so "if" we got anything it would be sleet - the news says. Which is worse than snow right? (more dangerous)

Our forecast here is for the possibility of sleet. Sleey, snow, just cold weather... time to move farther south!
