Thanks Siobhan for the great advice. I thought that perhaps we would arrive at 4:30am. The ticket agent would have to be open then wouldn't it? Don't they need to check out bags and stuff? I'll bring along some muffins too like you suggested. Thanks again! :goodvibes

I find that the Syracuse airport is smaller than Ottawas, I know that with Jetblue there is never usually a line up at checkin probably because more people choose online check in now. I can never do that as we are on the road more than 24 hrs before our flight. We would check in with Jetblue, they would tag our checked bags and we would then bring them over to the secure area to be searched prior to boarding,we just leave them there.

Then up the escalators to the 2nd floor where you will find security. It is usually fast, I think I have seen maybe 40 people at the most in a line up, but eventually it splits into two lines. I like Syracuse airport the TSA are usually friendly especially children.

Are you staying onsite in Orlando? We are into timesharing so we go to our home resort.

Have a great trip

and it's changed yet again - now Saturday is 1 to 3 and Sunday is close to 5cm for Toronto.

I won't worry about snow until the day before we are to leave!!

Looks like freezing rain & other mixed precipitation for the GTA this evening, Tuesday.
Ya I know we don't do winter well here in Southern Ontario.
You'd think Homer Simpson was in charge of snow removal.. wait Homer is better prepared than most GTA municipalities.

Watches

City of Toronto

Winter storm watch for
City of Toronto continued

A significant period of snow freezing rain and ice pellets is possible over southern Ontario tonight and Wednesday.

This is an alert to the potential development of dangerous winter weather conditions in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

Another winter storm is strengthening over Tennessee this morning and setting its sights on southern Ontario. This seems to be following the script of many previous storms this winter with the centre of the storm tracking just south of lakes Erie and Ontario.

As the winter storm develops and starts tracking northeastward up the east coast..Warm moist air will overspread the cold air entrenched across southern Ontario. As a result..A significant period of freezing rain and ice pellets is possible tonight..Especially along and near lakes Erie and Ontario and over parts of eastern Ontario on Wednesday. Further north towards the Dundalk Highlands to Barrie through to Renfrew..Heavy snow from this storm could produce snow amounts in the 15 to 25 centimetre range. Areas in between through south central Ontario could see a mixture of snow..Freezing rain..And ice pellets that may reduce the snowfall accumulations.

Latest indications show the freezing rain and ice pellets spreading into areas near Lake Erie as early as late this afternoon.

Exact snowfall amounts and the location of ice pellets and freezing rain will depend upon the exact track of this developing storm.

Travellers should be prepared to alter plans accordingly again as driving conditions once again will deteriorate significantly tonight and Wednesday.

Environment Canada is closely monitoring this situation and will likely issue warnings within the next 12 hours.

I just got home and the freezing rain has already started in Guelph! Batten down the hatches - looks like another busses cancelled day here for tomorrow!

I am supposed to leave for NB on Friday morning. 20 hours..4 kids..1 adult. If there is any storm warnings I AM NOT GOING! UGH! I'm already stressed out enough about this trip and doing it without DH.

No snow no ice CLEAR ROADS PLEASE!!

We are set to leave on Thursday night (driving). Hopefully the snow and freezing rain coming will be cleared up by then.
Looks like it might be another snow day here too. That will make 2 this week. We just had one on Monday. This is getting ridicilous. We have had something like 7 or 8 already! As teachers we sill have to go in to the school even though we never have any kids show up (we are a country school and all the kids are bussed).

Old man winter
once beloved friend
will yah stop your storming
and be my friend again.

Hugs Mel

Ahhh I was right!! no busses today in all of Wellington county - looks like halton, waterloo, dufferin are cancelled too!!

We really have all gone soft in S. Ontario!!

Oh well... at least my gr 8 ds that's in the dog house has the day to get his essay re-done.... he's not going to be very happy with me.

Hopefully it's all cleared up by tomorrow night when we have to do that 3.5 hr drive to Detroit!!

No buses but my kids are still gong to school.

I love it the snow is still falling in London and there are no signs of it stopping yet. It started last night about 8 and has just kept on coming. Let it snow let it snow let it snow...

I would love it was just snow here but it has been freezing rain/ice pellets for hours now. We had snow first so the roads are a mess.

Same here I wish I was in the sun....:beach: Snow Snow go away:sad:

Ahhh I was just looking on the weathernetwork site.... it's sunny and 26 and feels like 33 in San Juan right now..... I can look at this snow and keep realizing that it will be all gone for me on Friday evening!!!

I could get used to vacationing at this time of year!!

I'll try my best to bring that sun and warm weather back with me.... wonder if it qualifies as a carry on item :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I would love it was just snow here but it has been freezing rain/ice pellets for hours now. We had snow first so the roads are a mess.

It started as freezingrain and ice last night then turned into snow pellettes kinda like the snow that comes out of the snow making machines on a ski hill. It went to snow then freezing rain overnight and back to snow. I have no problems with it mind you our school said only 2 busses were cancvelled and then none of them came so the kids stood at the bus stop for 35 minutes LOL. I love this weather and driving in it etc it is great fun.
