We are getting bombed here. It just has not stopped since 10am or so. Originally it was supposed to be 2 to 4 cms. HA. We have WELL over that, and the gusts of winds are strong. The snow honestly seems to be picking up and getting stronger.

I guess winter has arrived. My kids are calling SNOW DAY, but that is highly unlikely. A real rarity, but you never do know. We might wake up to A LOT more that what they still say we are having.:cold::cold:

How much snow do you have to get for school to be cancelled? Here in MA, 4-5 inches=no school (and then they're still in school in late June!!). BTW, love your city!!

We were greener than green on Friday morning. Now we're whiter than white :rotfl2: and it just won't stop. It looks a good two feet to me. :confused3. They are calling for 60 cm before it stops but I can only think in feet and farenheit. Strange.

No snow at all - all season. And now voila!

Ski resorts must be SO thrilled. :goodvibes I'm in Collingwood right now.

I usually love it here as well, lol. Just not tonight..To think 10 days ago, my butt was parked in Aruba :sad1:. Umm there is no number really. We have more than 4 inches FOR SURE. My son is 14, and has had a total of 3 snow days EVER. Two of those were in one school year, 2 years ago. It really is a rarity. They just won't stop chanting, and I am hoping there IS school, because DH will FINALLY be off tomorrow, and we have to shop.
You can keep it!;)

Hiya, gorgeous and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Aww, come on. Don't ya want some???

Right back at you my dear beautiful lady. I hope all is well, and you are so often in my thoughts. :grouphug::flower3:

:rotfl2: So cute. I'm SO laughing. In a loving way kirbydog. :lovestruc Your kids must love their snow days.

It's Montreal! So right - i love it too. I'll let Mommasita answer.

Mommasita I went to Bishop's - so I understand SNOW AND SNOW.

Toronto is awful like that - barely any snow most winters. I know people think Canada and snow. But Toronto doesn't get a lot - at all. They got some yesterday - first time this season. For me if it's going to be cold - bring on the snow.

OMG I have been reading about some parts of Ontario. London for example :scared1:. See, this is the odd thing. They continue to say 2 to 4cms, and 1 to 3 overnight.. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That is hilarious, as we are surely getting that amount hourly here. Anxious to see a new update.

We were pretty green as well. Had a few droppings, but it had all melted.

Hiya, gorgeous and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Tina - last year we drove through THAT storm - the week before Christmas lovely. I will never ever forget it. I was so scared for all the people walking in traffic in Washington as we tried to get off for gas.

I was on my way from NYC to Williamsburg, VA.

Now that was a storm!!!!!!:3dglasses

OMG, we usually get 3-4 snow days each year! You northerners are much more hardy than New England!

Yes, here we just plow on through it (sorry about the pun). 4 wheel drive baby.
As I said, in 9 years, 3 days. And we have had some doozies.
Torontonions call in the Army :rolleyes1 *runs and hides when they get a real storm. LOL .. Sorry, we just never got over that.

Having said all that, there is some kafuffle on FB amongst various teachers, that they have had some word from the schoolboards to be on STBY.:headache:

You can send me some when I can be snowed in with my husband. We need some forced fun you know;) I'm doing well. Sitting here with my half broken ankle(still healing) propped up making my Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menu.

I did buy a new snow shovel last week. The baby is a monster shovel! It probably won't snow a drop now:rotfl:

Well let me go take a looky! :rotfl2:

It just won't stop! :scared1: And I think they said it's coming right off Georgian Bay - the big body of water than is a ten minute walk - my God it's like I'm in Buffalo or something.

The storm looked like a dusting compared to the big thing in Febuary. The entire area was shut down for days. This poor southern country girl had never shoveled more than 3 or 4 inches of snow so 20-30 inches was quite an eye opener to say the least.

I am so over the snow already! Last week Thursday and Friday it snowed nonstop. I have almost 4 feet on my front lawn. It didn't snow Sunday so we were able to clean up the driveway, I still cant get out my back door. This morning guess what...more snow. We were lucky enough to get another 6 inches or so today. They are calling for another storm later in the week. I have no idea where we are suppose to put that snow. There were trucks all weekend moving snow to empty parking lots. I am seriously considering becoming one of those people who moves south for the winter.:rotfl:

Hey! I resemble that remark!!! :upsidedow :rotfl2:

I'm in Buffalo. South of Buffalo, actually. We had about 34 inches last week. Got another few inches today. And calling for more all week.
You can blame your fellow Torontonian AutumnPalm for your snow. Last week she said on another thread how much she wanted some snow. So blame her! ;) :rotfl:

OMG. Torontonians do not call in the army. Psychotic ;) little tiny hairy mayors call in the army. :rotfl2: ;)

I just got back from my looky. It's unbelievable. I'll take some pictures tomorrow morning. Collingwood is getting blasted. Blue Mountain is in pure glee.

Isn't it funny? It's funny to me. I spent ten years downtown Toronto (and I'm going back soon) and I would hate it in the winter. Once in awhile a storm but in general hardly any snow downtown. And then you guys so close and snow and snow and snow. Position on the lakes. Fascinating to me. But once again I say if it's cold let it snow. I'm through there on the 17th so I'm selfishly hoping nada that weekend though.

Okay I thank  AutumnPalm.

** Many Canadians dislike winter and snow** I'm just different.

Tina - wow what a year for you to move up there, eh? Two huge storms. Wow.

The only place I see snow is the flurries in the forecast. But nothing coming out of the sky.

I was surprised when on the news they said some school district some place that I am not familiar with had a snow day.

While I hate the cold-dagnabbit, is it too much to ask for just a *little* snow flake here and there?

That way my kids can get their fix and stop bugging me about "Moommmmm, when is going to SNOWWWWWWW".

"Mommy has no idea, darling. But no more weather forecasts for you dear."

And this is the same little man that openly - read through the media :3dglasses- wondered outloud whether he might be boiled in a pot during his trip to Mombasa. :sad2::scared1:. Just days before they were deciding on Toronto vs. Beijing for the 2008 Olympics. The words ignorant and outrageously special well you get the thought process for the army. ;)

It takes a couple FEET of snow before we get a snowday. Our kids have had one snow day in 4 years (in Minnesota). We just got 9" on Friday and have had off and on flurries ever since.
