Hi,

Just wondering if we should buy our own snorkeling equipment or do the tour operators use disposible mouth pieces or are they disinfected? What is your opinion?

Heather

They don't use disposable, but they do disinfect them. Some of our friends and family used the ones on CC and on excursions, and didn't have a problem.
Personally, I wouldn't use them, but I'm really fussy. I do use their fins....too much to bring along for only one or two trips.
Masks and snorkels are pretty cheap at Target or Costco. It's a matter of whether you want to bring the extra gear, and if you mind using their stuff.
You're also going to get a better fit if you buy your own. But, if you're never going to use them again, I'd make sure not to pay too much.

Thanks for your honest reply. I am fussy too but FH tells me I worry too much. I think I will be heading to the store this weekend to see if I can find cheap sets. We are also heading to Aruba for a week after our cruise and Im sure they wil come in handy there too!

Thanks again,

Heather

I agree that you should buy your own snorkel and mask. Easy to pack and will pay for itself over a few uses. The fins are usually very cheap and easy to rent.

IF YOU DO BRING YOUR OWN MASK & SNORKEL CAN YOU JUST RENT THE FINS OR ARE YOU CHARGED FOR EVERYTHING???

yes, you will be able to just rent fins if you have the other things.
