SNL favorite skits!!!!

I've watched regularly since about 1982/83.

I loved loved loved Billy Crystal as Sammy Davis Jr., and as Fernando (YOU LOOK MAHVELOUS)

I liked the middle school music teachers as well, they were pretty funny.

I usually love the news skits as well, especially the older ones "Jane, you ignorat *&(& " Samurai Chef is funny as well, same as Eddie Murphy as James Brown (in the hot tub)

The Sweeney sisters were funny, same with Church Lady.

It is so unfortunate that this show produced so many talented individuals that are no longer with us

John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman.

All of these performers were really special, and they truly were wonderful.

Ed Grimley

Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood

The one where Martin Short was a game show host

Cheerleaders

Church Lady

Buckwheat

Chris Farley/Mike Meyers - Japanese Gameshow
Chris Farley/Phil Hartman/David Spade/Christina Applegate - Matt Foley Motivational Speaker

The Blue Oyster Cult!!

Schweaty balls
Church Lady
Junior high music teachers
Celebrity Jeapordy
Mango

How about "Cawfee Tawk" It was like buttah!

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Gumby dammit!

And we can't forget Wayne's World.

But my all time favorite was the Chippendale's audition when Chris Farley beat Patrick Swayze for the dance job! LOL

The Blue Oyster Cult skit! One of my favorites!!

:teeth:

I also love the Jeopardy skits.

Me too. "I've got a fever and the only perscription is MORE COWBELL" Christopher Walken hehehehehe

Eddie Murphy dressed as Santa in a Mr. Rogers kind of setting. "Boys and Girls....Chistmas is a time of giving and taking. And with this kettle, I can take in about $300 a day...."

And also: The Change Bank of New Jersey...."We only make change...we can turn dollars into quarters, or $50's into $10's....any kind of change you want. We make our money by volume...."

Eddie Murphy as Gumby, dammit!

Samurai

Cheeburger, Cheeburger

Candygram....Landshark

The Thing That Wouldn't Leave

One skit that had us in hysterics for a LONG time was one with Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd (I think) just saying over and over again "What the hell is that? I don't know what the hell that is..." My friend and I will just sit and do that routine and crack ourselves up. (Guess you had to be there...) :jester:

Or how about the one with the two men who would go on and on about how something hurt:

"Yeah. Like when you put your head in a vice grip and you turn the handle and ..."

"Oh, yeah. That hurts. Or like when you...."

"Yeah. I hate it when that happens."

I can't remember them all, but do remember laughing a lot at those stunts.

I also think The Rock, Derek Jeter and Garth Brooks have been some of my favorite guest hosts. They all seemed to have good "timing" when working with the cast.

My alltime favorite SNL skit was with Joe Pesci - it was the "Pinky Ring Skit".
OMG it had me rolling on the floor!
It is the same episode in which Joe Pesci came out at the beginning of the show and tore up a picture of Sinead O'Connor, as a response to her tearing up a pic of the pope the week before.

I think it was Nicholas Cage and one of the female regulars at the time.
She was pregnant and they were trying to come up with a name for the baby
"how about John'
"oh sure, gotta go to the john John?"
"ok, then how about Dick?"
some answer I dont remember, but you can guess
and they go on and on dismissing all the names.
Finally the doorbell rings and its a delivery guy
"I have a package here for Mr, umm, Asswipe?"
"Its Ahsweepay, Ahsweepay" (spelled as phoenetically as I could)

I was rolling by the time it ended, they were so worried about the kids first name when his last name was going to be asswipe.

Another 'cheezburger, cheezburger............no coke, pepsi ' fan here!

Celebrity Jeopardy with Sean Connery - There have been several and they always just kill me.

Old French Whoooooore - The game show - The one with Garth Brooks as one of the contestants. I believe that one had tears flowing.

One of my favorites is when Susan Dey was the host...

The had her and other cast members as The Partridge Family, playing their songs...

then in walks "Jan Brady" who finds out the Partridge Family are lipsyncing. She goes to get her brothers and sisters...

End up having a contest to see who can outperform...

Growing up with both shows, I found this one a riot.

Other favorite: Gotta have more cow bell - Blue Oyster Cult

Jeopardy!

The Cheerleaders

Al Gore - LockBox

Oh - and I really got a kick out of the Osoma bin Laden (jimmy fallon) calling Saddam Hussien (Horatio Sanz). They really were funny playing off each other.

Pam

Defintley Celebrity Jeopardy, Mary Catherine Gallagher "Superstar", The Cheerleaders and recently the Oprah's favorite things. I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.

Many classics already mentioned. Two more:

Bush (the 1st) giving the State of the Union address after Operation Desert Storm and he gets huge applause every time he says "Operation Desert Storm" and Michael J. Fox is playing Vice President Quayle and he can't figure out when to stand up and clap and when to stay seated. [I can't watch the State of the Union Address w/o thinking of that one.]

During the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings, a skit with the senante committee and Strom Thermond (sp) is telling Clarence that the ladies prefer the soft core porn, and then they bring in Long D**g Silver to testify and Senator Kennedy wants to know his tricks for being popular with the ladies.

Just remembered another fave !

When Nikole Kidman hosted.......she was a perfect little girl playing with a little boy that was chained to the jungle gym....she offers him chocolate ( your Satan !) then he goes running down the park pulling the gym with him !
