Sneaky magic band question?

I'm sure this is totally against the rules, but my in-laws came with us for the last trip and will not be coming with us on the next. We have their magic bands but one MDE account. They won't have any base day tickets for our upcoming trip. Is there a way we can use their bands for fast pass with one MDE account and no tickets for the day? I'm assuming the answer is no, but I'm trying to get FEA and TT fast pass for one day that we are at Epcot

If you are trying to book FP+ in ADVANCE, you can't without having valid tickets in the account.
Advance FP+ requires a valid ticket for every day booked.

You can use the "extra" MBs to book "same-day" FP+ in the park.

So the magic band for this poster MIL could be used for same day FP, even though the MIL is not on the hotel reservation and does not have a park ticket?

Wasn't sure if the same day or in the park fast pass booking needed a separate MDE account

Yup.
For the record, nobody ever needs a hotel reservation in order to make FP+ reservations.

A WDW Resort stay just allows earlier advanced FP+ booking compared to not having a WDW Resort stay booked.

In any case, having a valid ticket is the pre-requisite for making advanced FP+ bookings.

Nope. See the thread I posted the link to above.

I'll be doing what you are wondering about next June as long as the loophole has not been closed by Disney. My parents went with me this past June but won't be going next trip.

Popular FP+ selections (Epcot Tier 1) will likely be gone for same day once you are in the park. If you want to use the Magic Bands for FP+ selections, they would need a park ticket attached to be able to make selections at 30 days. Might be a wiser use of $ to book a VIP tour for 1-2 hours to see all of Epcot tier 1s with minimal wait.

Agree as far as the Tier 1 at Epcot. It's going to be difficult to get a Tier 1 as a same day but it is possible. You just need to head to a kiosk as soon as you get to the park and it would probably be for later in the day if you can get one.

I think the rogue MBs are more productive at MK.

I was able to book RnRC for 9-10pm for 1 person on a rogue band at DHS on 6/10 at around 10am. So it's possible.

To prebook yes.

To book same day, in the park? No, Disney has not closed this loophole yet.

This doesn't apply to me, but I'm curious...

Wouldn't the MB have to be used for admission in order to work for FP in the park? Much like how the paper FP system required the admission ticket to have be scanned at the turnstile.

As others have said, you do not need a ticket to do this.

The VIP tours are minimum 6 hours and range from $350-$500 per hour, so a pretty pricey way to see the top tier!

Yes. There are two huge threads devoted to this (SDFP for "same day fast pass").
