Sneaking into the express line

While I was on the express line for Spiderman, I saw a couple of teenagers sneak into the express line right behind us. They were laughing and so proud of themselves it really made me mad. When we got closer to the front of line I said very loudly to my DH "get out our express pass they are checking it again." As soon as I said that the teens got off the line.

The Universal worker did not check our pass again. I just said that to scare them off the line and it worked. However, they would have been admitted because the employee did not check for the Universal express pass again.

I was just wondering if the express line is not strictly enforced this can cause longer wait times for the people who have paid for this benefit.

They check the express card when you first enter a ride but they really need to check again before people get on the ride. These teenagers sneak into express line once inside the ride. Some rides did check but some did not.

I was just curious what others thought about this.

On many of the rides they check the express passes later. At MIB they check it right where you are divided into three lines. At Mummy they check it about half way through at a spot where it is unlikely to be able to get into the express line again. On most of the rides where you have easy access to the express line, it is checked again.

Good thinking on finding a way to get them out of the line! I wouldn't worry too much about this though. I really don't think it is a very common thing for people to do.

I saw this kind of thing happen in June when I was there.

In particular on ROTM, there were about 50 schoolkids in the single rider line which just basically left the entire single rider line at a standstill. I have never been so angry in a theme park before. I waited the best part of an hour on this occasion, and to make matters worse only the left loading platform was in operation.

Also on this occasion a teenager and his girlfriend sneaked from the single rider line back into the stand by line as this was obviously moving much faster due to the schoolkids clogging everything up. I should have done UE rather than SR (even though SR is always a walk-on for ROTM), but I think that once you choose your line, you should stay there - EVEN IF YOU MADE THE WRONG CHOICE.

I think you did well to scare them off. Some people did the exact same thing to us on the Spiderman ride last year and rode in the same car as us. Best part was, they forgot to take their 3-D glasses and so could not properly experience it. My kids and I deliberately kept remarking how wonderful the 3-D effects were. They were forced to wait in line a second time!

I normally see this happen during the busier times. When I see this happen in front or in back of us I tell them that the need to have their hotel key or express pass out to show the TM before getting on the ride. Normally they pause and get out of the line, or say "oh we got in the wrong line".:thumbsup2
