Sneaking in people

Putting an extra person in a room is NOT like stealing from a store. That's a ludicrous, JAVERIAN comparison. AFter all, it's YOUR timeshare. You OWN it until 2042 or 2053 depending.

An extra person will not get the resort "benefits." That's the consequence. But DVC doesn't care about an extra (well behaved) child even if they can't say that officially.

Disney doesn't have room police out checking for how many people are in a room. (Although it sounds like some DISers may be spying you out.)

Now that doesn't mean I would agree with unlimited number in a room. But one extra kid -- come on. As long as you're quiet and don't leave undo mess I'm SURE Disney doesn't care one bit.

So CHILL everybody.:smooth:

OK -- Barbecue me. You can't make my day worse than it's been.

Please don't feel that way!!!!!
As others have said, this can be a very heated discussion on the boards. Unfortunately some posters can be less than polite or welcoming in their responses.
I agree totally with Captain's response-- call MS for the best and most accurate answer. I think you will be quite happy with their response.
Have a wonderful trip, and please do not base your opinion of this board on the same old rude and repeated posts of some.

What she said.......

Hello,

I have a family of 5 and member services has repeatidly told me when I went to change my ressie from a studio to a 2 br (my older son decided to join us) "thats ok, you can have up to 5 in a studio, we just wont provide extra bedding"

I clarified this because on previous occations I was strictly told the limit was 4. They said it can legally be 5 in a studio or 1 br, but you provide the bedding. (think aerobed)

Another alternative , which will cost you the same amount of points as a one bedroom is to book 2 studios , you can by the standards of the contract sleep 8 , and have 2 bathrooms. I have used this option in the past as well.

When I first asked about this topic, I was flamed too, dont let it get to you , when you are dealing with people who have alot of money, they may not know what it is like to raise children on a budget, with good morals and habbits.

You can have a large neat family that would not cause undue wear and tear in a room, and you can have 2 people staying in a grand villa that totally trash the place, its totally individualized, and no one should be judged here. Whats going to go on is going to go on weather you flame the nice folks on this board or not. The Dis is only a minute percentage of dvc owners, and what goes on , will go on anyway. No one here has the power to impact the dvc members behaviors. so lighten up guys, its costs nothing to be polite.

I see that you are new to the DIS (although you may have been learking for some time), so please don't go away insulted by the posts of others. This board is based on other peoples opinions and we all congregate together here to share experiences and learn from each other (or at least that is why I am here). Sometimes, we touch the nerves of some people and you may get snapped at, but don't take it personally and go away mad. It's just part of the whole DIS experience. You really haven't lived unless a SUPER DIS VETERAN takes a shot at you anyway!!! With that said, we are a family of 5 and stayed in a 1BDR at BWV a month ago (no flaming - my youngest is 2). To be quite honest, it felt crowded the whole time. Our plan was to try the 1BDR while the youngest was 2, and all future trips will be in a 2 bdr (just in case the DIS room police are watching). If you call MS and tell them the situation, I am pretty sure they will have no problem letting all 3 kids have their name on the room. However, you may want to consider the quality of the room time for your family for a whole 10 days.

While I'm thinking about it...you may want to stay in an OKW 1BDR since OKW is the only REAL DVC resort and they have the Biggest Rooms so you won't feel cramped in those other wanna be DVC resorts...or so I have heard, time and time and time again!!!

Thanks everybody. I feel better about everything now. I suppose it wasn't the right board to ask a question like that but as I said I am new and just learning stuff as I go. You helped a lot with my questions.

Occupancy limits have been stated. The subject has been deemed forbidden on this board by the Webmasters due to the past heated discussions of it. Freel free to debate the issue on the DIS Debate Board, however.
