I posted this on the Scrapping Board, but I thought I would post it here, too....I really need help :)

I'm just back from a 2 week WDW trip and I have over 500 prictures I'd like to print (can't wait to start scrapping this trip!)...but I am new to getting digital prints printed out.

I've done it a few times with Shutterfly (quality Ok), and heard that ofoto had better quality and I was going to give them a try, but their prints are .29 each. I can get Shutterfly prints for .20 each (prepaid price) or Snapfish for .15 each (prepaid price). Those are big price differences! I'd like to go with the cheapest, but I AM willing to pay for good quality. Any thoughts on Snapfish? OR how Shutterfly comapres with Ofoto?

Thanks for any feedback! :cool1:
(Smilie posted for my DD6, who is standing right next to me and asked me to add him!)

I use Snapfish, both for digital and regular photos, and have no qualms recommending them. The digital photos come back crisp and they even have a special size to keep your digital photos in the right perspective, they are quick and simple to use. Thumbs up from me - we used them for our Disney cruise, and my daughter's 2 week trip to New Zealand and Australia.

I really, really like Snapfish.
I got all my Dec WDW pics done with Snapfish.
I like to get the matte prints.
I like how you can crop and enhance your photos. You can even give your photos nice borders and turn them into black/white or sepia for no extra charge. I've also ordered larger sized prints with Snapfish that turned out great.
My prints were ordered and received from Snapfish in about 6 days.

I took some mailers to WDW for my son's disposable cameras. All those prints turned out nice, too.

I've used both Snapfish and Ofoto. I like the quality of both and I go back and forth between them, depending upon who is offering a better deal at the time. If are registered at Ofoto, they frequently send emails with discount codes for up to 40% off their regular prices. That puts them closer to Snapfish's prices without forcing you to purchase 100's of prints to get the low price.

Here is who I use and I love them.

http://www.winkflash.com/

16 cents a print, 99 cents flat shipping and handleing. They have great pictures and are really speedy in getting your order shipped. They have matt and gloss (I like matt) white borders, differnt sizes, cropping etc....

If I order on a Monday I have them in the mail by Friday. I have never had any problems with them.

They used to be 19 cents a print and free shipping and handiling.

I use Snapfish religously. I love them alot. They always give me awesome prints and I love being able to pick and choose what ones I want and don't want. And I can store them there in case I need more later on. Which happens sometimes when I am scrapping.

I've used Ofoto for a few years and am very pleased with their prints, Christmas cards, and their Photobooks. They are almost always running a sale, too.

I use winkflash as well. I've ordered 100's from them, but you don't have to order a lot at a time to get the cheapest price. Theirs are a flat 16 cents each with 99 cent flat shipping. During the summer months, shipping was free. I can't say enough good things about this company!

I have used most of the services you mentioned and have been pleased with the quailty of prints from them. I have however used Snapfish more, and recently. I just returned from a cruise and uploaded 649 photos. (Not all cruises photos though we did take over 1000.) I had done the prepay to get the cheapest price per photo, but did not realize what the shipping charge was going to be. Since I had ordered from them in the past, many being large orders, I didn't even think of looking at the shipping cost. They clipped me over $40 for shipping! I don't know if they had a shipping charge change or what, because I never remember it being that expensive. The whole order ended up being around $150 bucks. I ended up not saving as much as I had thought I would with the prepay and unfortuantely couldn't back out of the order since I had already done the prepay for 600 of the photos. So just a world of advise, check the shipping charges as well. I learned the hard way, but do have beautiful photos that I'm very proud of and can't wait to get in my scrapbooks.

I have used ofoto & snapfish. I did have an issue with snapfish though. Two of my pictures of the Hilton Head Red Lighthouse came with a line in them. I had also ordered a flip book & photobook from them and there were no lines on those pictures. For just pictures, I would recommend ofoto. For custom books (which I love), I recommend snapfish.

Good Luck!
Melissa

We tried the others, but we like the quality of Ofoto prints best. Like you, we often print hundreds of pictures at a time! Ofoto offers some great deals.

Through January 12th (until midnight), the current deal is:
Spend $10, save 10%: NEWYEARS10
Spend $20, save 15%: NEWYEARS15
Spend $30, save 20%: NEWYEARS20

Usually after a deal expires, they contact us within a few days with another offer. 20% off is pretty typical, but sometimes it goes even higher.

I use Shutterfly for my digital prints. I have always had good quality and great service. I haven't noticed an especially large shipping charge, but the most I have ordered at one time has been around 100 photos. I use Shutterfly when I have pictures on my digital camera and I want to upload the pictures. I also like the sharing feature (but most have this option, I think) as I upload all my pictures and send the link to family (for example, I uploaded all my Christmas pictures on Christmas night and my inlaws, and out of town family still got to see the festivities that day!)

I use Snapfish when I have real film pictures that I want developed. I like to be able to send the pictures in and have them developed. They have little prepaid envelopes that you send in. I used this when we went to Disney and the pictures were waiting for us when we got home! Snapfish also puts the roll online for you, so you get digital copies too that you can share. Plus they send you real prints too.

I use snapfish--I have never been disappointed.

I have only done this twice and use Snapfish both times. I waited until they had special to use it, though. They do give you a deal when you first sign up. I cant remember the deal but you got so many free prints. I liked the quality of the pictures and was really glad they turned out so well.

:cheer2:
Here is another recommendation for Snapfish. While I have successfully used other services, like Ofoto, I am a devoted Snapfish user. Their quality is great, and they were one of the first and one of the few that offer the 'matte' finish on prints which I just love. Their prices can not be beat, and even with their 'standard' delivery we typically get our order within 7 days.

Their pre-paid package plans are nice. We got a package for $90 - and that got us 600 4x6 prints - averaged out to 15cents per print. Can't beat that!

Thanks for all the replies...seems like most people are happy with whoever they use... That helps. I'm so nervous about ordering my prints and being disappointed.

KMH!, I already used the 20% off code to order NEw Years Cards from Ofoto, so I couldn't use it again :( I actually had a bunch of photos cropped and ready to order from them and was planning on the 20% off to bring down the .29 a print price, but thanks for posting the codes!

And somebody mentioned winkfish on the scrapping board -- and somebody else just posted a code for .08 prints from them! I think the code is s1xj5a77

Here's the link to the post that gave the winkfish code:

Also, somebody on the scrapping board also posted a code for 50 FREE prints on snapfish. I think that code was Expedia50 (expiration unknown).

Here's the link to the post mentioning the 50 free prints:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=712698

Anyhow, I appreciate the feedback for everyone,a nd I hope the codes are helpful to some of you! (I'm going to double check them now and edit this post if I've gotten them incorrect....OK I double chedked and posted links...Hope that helps!)

I'm another Shutterfly fan. Prices on the pre-paid plan are great and print quality is also great. But my biggest reason for using them over a few others like Ofoto (who finally came down in price) is that Shutterfly prints your file name on the back of the print. I edit all of my photos to crop, fix red-eye, etc. and I name each photo with a sequential number, descriptive text, and date. So, having the file name is my way of archiving the photo because I know I can just pull it out of the photo album at any time and be able to see when and where it was from. I haven't checked the others recently, but back when I was doing my research on where to get my digital prints, they were the only ones who did this.

I used to use SAM's club on-line, but they quit printing the file-name on the back, and they also lowered the file size you could upload, and it was too low for my 4 MP camera.

Does anyone know of any other on-line places that print the file name on the back of the photo? If there are any, I'll have to take a look again and see if anyone else has better quality/price than Shutterfly.
