Snake in Resort Room?

what did they do with the 5 ft snake in the pool??? I am so curious.. The snake we saw was at Port Orleans Riverside...

There were 2 fully dressed maintenance men in the water with big nets. I don't know what they did with it. I hope it wasn't part of the breakfast skillet at the Roaring Fork:sad2: I can't believe I wrote that.

I guess you won't want to hear that I saw a RAT in Epcot!:scared1::scared1: We were sitting on the patio at Rose & Crown, you know, those coveted patio tables everyone wants for illuminations?, Well, about 15 mins. before the show, we had one of our own: a rat ran across the patio right over my Mom's feet:scared1: OMG, we were shocked, the people at the next table saw it too, we couldn't believe it. :scared1: Yuck, yuck yuck!!!

isn't he in Les Chefs de France now, entertaining guests? think his name is Remi? :rotfl:

If we're staying in a blacony room do we still need to keep the balcony door closed? Can they get in that way too? :confused3

Snakes & spiders are my two biggest fears. I'm printing out pics of the poisonous ones to take with me! Ick.

We saw a similar snake at Pop around the same time last year as your photo. We were unloading our bags, and he crossed the sidewalk in front of me. Too quick for a photo, though.

I noticed your photo was out of focus. That appears to be the quickest "open the door, shoot it, and close the door" I have ever seen! :rotfl:

I walk in to use the room, and seen it laying there, thought who left is toy snake in here, till it move, then I jump, and started to exit the room, then I remember I have the camera in my hand, went back took the pic, and out the door I went, found 2 CM in a golf cart, they walk in and one I show the snake said "it's a toy" till it move again, and he was out the door faster then I was, took them about 1/2 hour to remove it, I sure didn't sleep good that night, it was my last night so I didn't ask to change rooms, just made sure to check everything I pick up.
Funny thing is when I was in grade school I had a pet snake in my bedroom, play with it all the time, the a few years ago I came across a rattlesnake, we were about 2 feet apart and it was very BIG, from then on I hate snakes

You would be fine as long as no tree limbs were laying against your balcony. They can't climb walls very well in Florida. Very few snakes in the world could climb a wall or jump. Whoops! Did I say jump?

Why am I enjoying this?

lol. You know how many people are going to freak out at the word jump. :rotfl: You are very bad. Bad I tell you!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

This is a sick, sick thread. Why don't I unsubscribe? Everytime I see that snake on that bathroom floor, my skin crawls. When I was a kid, my grandmother lived at the foot of a mountain in Virginia. Rattlesnakes would get in her hen house and look for eggs. She would go in there with a hoe and chop it in half. She was a hearty woman. :worship: Made of something stronger than I am.

They tell you this little rhyme here in Texas....red and yellow kill a fellow, red and black alright jack..thats how I remember.

And here's my little rhyme:

It's long and has no legs...no odds if it's red & yellow or red & black.
I'm going drop dead with a heart attack.
Jack.

I checked out the original pictures of the snake in the Contemporary. Admittedly they are not wonderful but if someone showed me them and didn't tell me about the snake - I would not be able to see it - even in the pic where the maintenance guy is supposed to be carrying it.

I'm not saying it was never there but it just seems odd. Also, on the blog that has the pics, the blogger is saying that she is trying to help the family "get something out of Disney".

If it's true that the snake was found on the fourth floor, then it is worrying. I've never seen a snake at WDW but I've always requested not to have a ground floor room, because I don't want to see one.

after following this thread for weeks... life is now immitating art/disboard-thread ! ...

DBF's mom found a snake in their garden, twice this week!! in England! just grass snakes.. they are thin & two/three foot long, nothing to worry about, but ... aaahhhh!

so, as there's now a chance to see one at home, i'd rather be in wdw with a disney snake ;)

As you can see in my siggy I've been to WDW many times and stayed at several resorts and have NEVER seen a snake!!! YIKES!! Lots of little lizzards though, but never in the room. Now I've just jinx myself haven't I?!?

Here's a nice link for those of you who are worried. There are a few pictures, but just for information purposes. I understand that some of you don't care if it's venomous or not, but if you can arm yourself with a little information it may put your mind more at ease if you would happen to see something.

thanks for the info, but it wouldn't do me any good, cuz if I see a snake from a distance:scared1: I'm going the other way as far and fast as I can, and if I'm close enough to it to see what kind it is....
I'll drop dead of a heart-a-stroke

My dad was a WDW cast member in the 70's. He worked in Maintenance. One of his favorite stories to tell is of a woman who "streaked" the beach at the Contemporary! She was in one of the garden wing rooms, ground floor and was apparently changing clothes or getting ready to take a shower when she spotted a snake in the room. Well, she ran out of the room nude and streaked the beach, screaming! ROFL! Several cast members chased her down with towels to cover her. I don't know what ever happened to the snake.

My dad also said that when ever they had to replace the air conditioner filters at the Poly (which were in the ceiling), it was common to find snake skins.

A heart-a-stroke. Oh my goodness. Thanks for the deep belly laugh. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

Has a snake ever been spotted in Hourglass Lake, or even worse, POP???:scared:

Well, I saw one, scurrying over the pavement to get to the bushes at POP. Just stay alert, and dont go through the grass, or bushes. You will be ok.
