Hi, this was posted on the POFQ thread and I am confused, can anyone confirm/explain what she means by Disney Deal? Is this the current thinking for snack credits???

oh well right?

Disney does not release official snack lists or snack policy, and they've never treated this as a hard and fast rule - some items over $4 have traditionally been available as snack credits, but they could change what they're doing as far as snacks at any time. It has been confirmed that some items that used to be snack credit eligible, no longer are.

Unfortunately it can't be confirmed without firsthand reports. And from the quote you can't tell whether the writer assumed that anything over $4 wouldn't qualify and didn't ask, or whether they asked for beignets and got refused.

I saw some guy in DHS trying to get the $9.xx turkey legs as a "snack" on his dining plan.

I just got back from Disney World and we were always quoted "under $4.95" for using a snack credit. We had plenty of snacks that were over $4 and never had a problem using the credits.

I'm not sure about the milkshake, but you could get 3 beignets at POFQ for a snack credit. We just got back as well, and we enjoyed quite a few snacks that were over $4.

We have always been able to get 3 beignets for a SC. (used to be able to get 6).

I have a 2012 Confirmed Snack thread you might want to check out. (link in siggy) that should help.

They used to "say" anything under $4 but that really hasn't been the case for a few years now. There are many items over $4 inc. (and some under $4 aren't) During the F&WF any item was a SC, even the $7+ lobster claw.

The best guideline we saw was "individual serving". Cost did not seem to be a deciding factor. We got some really nice fruit bowls at CSR that were well over 4.00. The also have some really small prepackaged snacks (like 4 oreo cookies) that was also a CS. You really just have to use your judgement as to what is worth a credit. We paid out of pocket for a few things like a cheap bag of candy DS had to have! This was from last month and was somewhat different from our past trips.

We were quoted $5 at a lot of places and some CM's were still saying $4. They clearly leave it open to the discretion of the resort/park/restaurant/store to a certain extent.

This is your best guideline ^^^^^:thumbsup2

If in any doubt, just ask :goodvibes

We got milk shakes for a snack credit twice no problem, I don't think there's a hard and fast rule it depends from location to location.
