I'm trying to think of some snacks to take with us on the airplane...any ideas? I'm stuck - granola bars is the only thing I'm coming up with...

TIA!

What time is your flight? If we fly during a mealtime, we always bring this 'meal':
-bagels with cream cheese or butter
-Goldfish
-String Cheese
-Usually a fruit of some sort (bananas or clementines)
- Some sort of sweet like M&M's or other

For just snack-time, I would do granola bars, animal crackers, some sort of sweet, maybe a fruit, a sleeve of Ritz crackers or a container of pringles (love the way they aren't crushed in a carry-on) and maybe some pretzels.

Welch's Gummy Fruit Snacks, pretzels, cheese sticks, goldfish, fresh fruit, carrot sticks, individual-sized Pringle cups... that's what we usually have (and more)... we love snacks!

For meals, we bring cooked pasta and deli meats to go with the snacks.

Lollipops, fruit snacks or gum for the kid's ears for take off and landing.

I try to be careful not to pack anything with peanuts/peanut butter, incase other passangers are allergic.

I've packed muffins before.

Bagels should travel well.

We take all of these with us minus the Pringle cups, however we also bring lollipops which helps the kids' ears during take off and landing

If we're flying in the morning, the Little Debbie Pecan Spinwheels. (For years, my children knew those by the name "airplane treats".)

We also usually bring a box of mini-cookies, a bag of Chex Mix, and a packet of ziplocs so that each person can have a baggie to keep their stash, both on the plane and in the parks. We also tend to bring seedless grapes.

FWIW, please bring baggies to seal up fruit peelings/cores for any fruit that you bring. The smell of that can get very cloying in an enclosed space if you don't seal it up before throwing it away.

I pack rice crispie treats, ritz crackerfuls, little debbie brownies, carrots and dried fruit.

We almost never have lunchables at home so the kids were happy to have them on the airplane, the ones without the juice bag. Fruit leather, grapes, crackers, and carrots. We use skittles for takeoff/landing.
We tried frozen go-gurts but they wouldn't allow them past security.

Ok so i'm a unhealthy trail mix maker:

I make muddy buddies but then I add Reece's pieces, salted peanuts, plain m&m's.

I like Kashi new fruit bar and will probably bring those along too.

What are muddy buddies? Up here if someone says muddy buddies they are talking about rain/splash pants for children.

Not the healthiest of snacks but my kids love the Cheese & Crackers that you spread with the red spatula. (I can't remember the name) Since they don't get them often it is nice treat on the plane.

We also bring little bags of goldfishies or even the snack size cereal boxes.

I used to bring the squeeze cheese for my kids, but am not sure they would consider that a liquid?? I would say "no", but have avoided taking it , just in case.

I usually bring sandwiches and those goldfish crackers.

We're leaving tomorrow and I have peanut butter cracker sandwiches, individual packs of cookies and fruit snacks. We are flying at 10am, so my son will probably want a snack on the plane. We will have breakfast before we leave or at the airport and lunch at Disney, so I don't need much, but I would hate to get stuck with no food if the plane is delayed.

I learned a great rule of thumb on the transportation board: If it needs a container to hold its shape, it is considered a liquid and therefore a no-no for bring onto airplanes. Following this I would say your squeeze cheese is indeed a no-go.

For breakfast flights, I buy the cereal that is already in the bowls from target, normally a $1 each, and buy milk at the airport or kids get it on the plane.

For lunch flights, I take lunchables, chips, and sliced fruit. It's good to have a plastic bag to throw it all away in.

For snacks, raisins, chips, granola bars, goldfish, cheez its and one type of candy. I actually try and bring enough to have snacks left for the flight home too.

Just be prepared if someone has a peanut allergy they won't let you eat any peanut snacks. They will make an annoucement at the beginning of the flight.

On our flight coming home someone was allergic to peanuts so they couldn't pass any out but I was happy I liked their replacement snack better.:goodvibes
