snacks at cove cafe

THOSE PICTURES LOOK AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I never eat desert in the MDR due to them being to fancy or fruity for my liking. But now I have discovered there is a dessert heaven!!!!!

On the Fantasy and Dream, you can also get the snacks on deck 4 at Vista cafe for free also.

Sometimes, the staff wants to help you get the items, other times it is self serve. I've never figured out when or why that happens. (the ship was not on food service alert where all food is handled by the CMs, which is why I was confused)

On occasion, you can find some left over Palo desserts at Cove cafe in the afternoon.

I've taken the goodies back to my cabin or eaten them there. There are also books and magazines in Cove cafe, too!

Does the Cove Cafe have any gluten free snacks/desserts? I sure hope so, we sail in November.

I would guess not and unlikely. They would have to be especially made. Just like for anyone requiring or choosing a gluten free diet in the MDR's?

OK, when I go in there again tonight, I will tell them to put some out, we get free drinks in there so in and out day and evening as our room is underneath.

@DISNEY FANTASY, were you able to "tell" them to put out the cheese and meats? Did you see them?
I surely hope you did not "tell them" and asked them if they could?

In all honestly I think the desserts look better than they taste. Some are OK but not great, IMO.

MJ
matters not if they are there for the taking! I'm sure they are still yummy!

I love the Cove Cafe treats (and treats in the Atrium at the coffee shop). My favorite are the little tartlets with mangos or strawberries. I think the Cove desserts beat the pants off the MDR desserts. Better portion control, too! :)

How do you get free drinks in there?

I believe if you are concierge on the older ships you get free drinks here as there isn't a lounge. There is a coffee machine in the lounge of the newer ships.

Sorry I didn't come back but last night was packing night the last night of our cruise, I was using up my ship internet package.

We were concierge, now the Magic is in an interim state, the two older ships didn't have a concierge lounge but on the newer ships Dream and Fantasy they do have. So on Dream and Fantasy in the Concierge lounge you get bottled water, coffee tea from a great machine, and booze just before meals.

The Magic is getting its concierge lounge in a re fit in September, and until then concierge guests on the Magic get.

Free standard drinks in Cove Cafe and Promenade lounge. IE not cocktails but a cuppa chino, you just give your Gold card and it automatically comes up a Nil cost, I added a tip of $2 per drink to compensate the staff. Due to the location of our stateroom its one minute to the Cove cafe and about five minutes to the self service station. So I was in and out of CC all day on sea days and early morning and late evening on most port days,

So I saw and picked up the food in the glass cabinet, often ( no names) someone in my cabin will ask me to go an get them a drink, I had to take their card as its one free drink per card per visit, and each time i was asked to bring back a plate of stuff as it was quicker than going to Cabanas or daisy do lights.

The Magic concierge lounge is going where Signals bar was and around the boutique there which is moving to the forward stack, edge and vibe move, and walls will be knocked through and its all on deck 10. Will look stunning, a bit like outlook cafe on the Wonder and it has a private concierge sun deck.

We had two packs of Evain bottled water, 48 in each box for free and unlimited soda cans of our choice, this is temporary up to the opening of the new CL.

Ilearned something new. I did not realize the treats in the cabinet were free! woohoo!

Has anyone Dinner at Palo with friends in a different cabin. was wondering if they could split the bill at 1 table for multiple staterooms.

yes they can. they do it all the time. i would suggest though, if you have anymore questions about Palo you may want to check a different thread as this one is mostly about cove cafe.

The CM has to get the items in cove ,at least on the Fantasy/Dream - the container opens begins behind the bar. Vista on deck 4 is out in the open to where you can get your own.

On the Dream the goodie cabinet opens in the back. You can see it on the right side of the counter here:

On the Fantasy it opens in the front. This is the same cabinet (from the guest side) on the Fantasy - you can see the handles to open it:

You can see that the tongs to pick up the items are faced for the guest to use.

When did you take the Fantasy picture? I stopped by Cove every afternoon before dinner the first week of June and the tongs were set to behind the counter and that was how the cabinet opened. I couldn't open the cabinet to get things myself.

Last September, on our B2B cruise. Maybe they changed the cabinet since then, but it definitely opened toward the front when we were on her.

It's changed to a back opening cabinet during high risk Norwalk virus times, the same as Palo brunch being served to you not serving yourself, it's a very limited thing during an outbreak or a high risk of an outbreak.

Anyone know whether the Magic has one you help yourself or you ask the staff to serve? Just wondering

That is my one regret from Magic last year. If said to DH the only thing the ship was lacking was a place for nicer desserts during the day. Thought cove was for conceierge pax.

Live and learn.
