Snacking Around the World

Anyone know where to find the gelato in Italy? I've looked every time I go & never seem to find it, but sure enough I get home & hear all about it on the forums. :surfweb:

You can get gelato at the cart next (to the left) to the stand that sells coffee and pastries. It's a cart with a donkey (not a real one of course :rotfl: )

terriyaki chicken and rice at Yakatori House in Japan - also check out the candy/snacks in the gift shop
Side Dish of Tabbouleh at Tangereine Cafe in Morocco
whatever catches my eye at Pastisserie Boulangerie in France, or a chocolate crepe at the stand out front
sugar free chocolate mousse (you won't know it from the taste)at Kringla og Bakeri in Norway
skip Cantina San Angel in Mexico
Bellini (technically it's a drink, but almost a snack, as it's very fruity ) in Italy
Soft Pretzel in Germany
British versions of candy bars in the gift Shop in UK
Pretzel Breadsticks at Canada

It really helps to buy one in most places and share, that's also why the bellini is nice along the way - you'll need a beverage somewhere along the way.

My sister did this last summer, and WOW- it's a big task to take on. My advice, other than you NEED to have a crepe from France, is that you probably will want to do this in more than just ONE day!! It's a lot of food and by the end of the day.. it's a full tummy!!

Churros from Mexico
School Bread from Norway
Soft Pretzel or Apple Strudel from Germany
Cannoli from Italy
Funnel Cakes in United States
Kaki Gori in Japan
Different kinds of Baklava from Morocco
Cheese Plate in France
Fish & Chips in United Kingdom

Yummm!

okay i will admit this:rolleyes1

has anyone else besides me ever wanted to just spend the afternoon at Norway and just eat?????

they could make it a TS credit and we could just eat pastries and ........be very very happy :goodvibes

We are doing this too with our DS8 and DS6. I planned on a churro from Mexico, egg rolls from China, pretzel from Germany, school bread from Norway, Kaki Gori (tangerine AND a strawberry) from Japan, nothing from the US or Canada, and a cream puff from France, all to share between 4 of us. We want our kids to get to try food from around the globe! What about Morocco and Italy? What would the most popular sweet from those two places be? Any candy, chocolate or pastry would be good! Thanks!:thumbsup2

I'm not sure if this has changed but last year the pastry shop in france was not included as a snack on the DDP. It could be different this year.

Norway was excellent. I don't remember what I had but it was good. We also did the Brat and black forest cake at germany which was good (used a cs credit for that meal)

Not on the DP, but well worth it is an early evening trip to France to get a Napoleon and coffee and then to sit at the little cafe tables and people watch as the sun sets before staking out a place for Illuminations. mmmmm!:cloud9:
