Instead of doing a beer around the world, my DSister and i decided that if we are going to crash our diets we are going to crash Disney style!!!:cool1:

As we go around epcot we are getting a snack from each country. Trouble is we don't know what to get.:confused3 What is you fav snack from each country? Bonus points for knowing if it counts as a DDP Snack!!:worship:

We do something similar. We purchase a sealed snack item in each country. Salsa in Mexico, maple flavored syrup in Canada, Melon cakes in China, Pocky cookies in Japan, wafer cookies in Germany, fruit flavored candies in Norway, assorted chocolates in the other countries.

We take the "goodies" home with us and sample them during the first week home. It's a great way to bring back Epcot memories.

We have also snacked while touring World Showcase. Margaritas and churros in Mexico, funnel cakes in the United States, orange chicken in China, French pastries in France and maple pralines in Canada.

france- croissants:thumbsup2 I always get one for now and one for later:cloud9:

I'm with the people who voted for the margaritas and churros. This is my fav.
Also the pastries in France are excellent!

California Roll at Yakatori House in Japan
Side Dish of Tabbouleh or Olives at Tangereine Cafe in Morocco
Pralineige at Pastisserie Boulangerie in France
Lefse at Kringla og Bakeri in Norway
Churros at Cantina San Angel in Mexico
Biscotti & Espresso at the Pasticceria in Italy
Soft Pretzel in Germany
Chips or Crisps at Yorkshire Fish Shop in UK
Potstickers or Ginger Ice Cream at Lotus Blossom in China
Pretzel Breadsticks at Canada

Word of warning - Snacking around the World is just as impossible for me as Drinking around the World. A few countries & I'm all in unless it's the F&W Fest where portions are nice & small.

Mexico-churro
Norway-school bread
Germany-chocolate covered caramel cashew cluster
China-fried wontons in a bag or egg roll
Italy-canoli or any of the little tiny pieces of chocolate in the wine store
US-funnel cake
Japan-kaki gori
Morroco-baklava
France-Napoleon or peach tart (definitely not a snack credit)
UK-any of the chocolate candy bars
Canada-maple candy

Does anyone know if just about all of the snacks at the Food and Wine Festival count as snacks on the DDP this year?

:wizard: China...Egg Rolls at the Lotus Blossom

Japan, a melon kakigori

I am going to have a glass tonight....Found a bottle of Rosa Regale at World Market for 19.99

:happytv: The last 2 years the Snack Credits have been able to be used to purchase food samples at the Food & Wine Booths.
I haven't seen anything official for this year, but I am planning on it. I hope I am right

Anyone know where to find the gelato in Italy? I've looked every time I go & never seem to find it, but sure enough I get home & hear all about it on the forums. :surfweb:

My best friend is a dessert expert. :cloud9: She loved the Sticky Toffee Pudding from the pub in England (Epcot of course). We are taking our teenage dd's next month for a girls only trip and all she talks about is that sticky toffee pudding. Of course I've mentioned the Mickey rice crispy treats and the frozen bananas once or twice.

I love this idea but I have one question, not being very familiar with the countires in Epcot. Are you purchasing these snacks to take home from a CS restaurant or from a gift shop? Thanks!

We purchase them from the gift shops. Each country usually has a large variety of goodies to choose from. These are just some of the many we have tried.
