Snack ? on DDP

I've read about some people using gift cards for some snacks, to save the snack credit for more expensive ones. If you use your card for charging, can you just tell them not to use the snack credit and charge it....or does it automatically pull the snack credit first?

Last year we were on the DDP, and in order to use a credit we would specifically have to tell the cashier that we wanted to use a snack credit. We charged some snacks to the room on the Key to the World card and we also used snack credits. To be certain, I would just instruct the cashier either "i'm charging this" or "I'm using a snack credit." If you want to be very certain, you could always pay for the out of pocket snacks with a different form of payment. However, we had no issue using the Key to the World card for both. I'm curious to know other people's experiences, so I'm subscribing to this thread. Have a great trip!

Just tell the cashier ringing in the order if you'll be paying with snack credits or charging the order before ringing everything in.

Be sure to look at your receipt. One time at the candy shop on Main Street in MK after having discussed with the CM which options were included in the dining plan as snack credits I looked at my receipt and it showed prices instead of credits. The CM then tried to say I should have told him that I wanted to use the dining plan to which I replied that I thought that was pretty clear when I was making sure the items were eligible at which point he paused, appologized and had to refund my entire transaction and re-ring everything in as snack credits. It was a simple mistake but I would have missed it if I didn't look at the receipt.
