I remember seeing older posts about using a snack credit for a "Continental Breakfast" while on the dining plan.

Is this right? If so, what exactly is it?

Thanks!

can't really do that with a single snack credit, if you're meaning a roll & beverage. You can get a nice pastry (like a warm cinnamon roll) for one snack credit, but will take you another credit for a beverage.

Unless you're on the QSDP, then you could use your refillable mug for a coffee/tea/soda/lemonade and get your pastry.

you used to be able to buy a box of donuts in the hotel gift shop with a snack credit. I don't know if that is still in effect or not

discontinued that one a couple of years ago...they're very strict now that a snack has to be a single-serving size. So even small bags of candy may only cost a couple of $$ but if the pack says "family size" or the nutritional info says it's more than one serving you cannot get it for a snack credit.

We used one of our snack credits from the QSDP and our mug to have our breakfast last year.

We usually got a danish, bagel, muffin, or yogurt (based on resort---allowed at CR but not at BW bakery).

We would then get coffee with the mug. Two of my three kids don't drink coffee so I would pay for a milk or juice for them if they wanted it.

In addition, we would usually choose fruit as our dessert the day before, save it, and then add it to our breakfast.

When we stayed at AKL, a single serving container of cereal and milk was considered one snack item. Also things like a fruit cup, yogurt, bagel, and pastries were also snack items that we used for breakfast. We would often get a bottle of juice with our meal the night before, and save it for the morning.

You may be able to get a multiple-item continental breakfast for a CS credit, but one snack credit = one item.

Yes! We do this the days we have an ADR at a TS for lunch. We get the resort mugs so there is our beverage and we get pastries or yogurt or whatever.

Options vary at different locations, but you can put together a continental breakfast with a CS credit. In many cases this is plenty to share between 2 people, unless you prefer a substantial breakfast to start your day.

OK, thanks for the responses. Maybe I was mis-remembering and it was actually a CS credit.
That doesn't seem to make sense though because you can buy a CS breakfast with a CS credit.
Oh well!
Thanks again!

Maybe this was what I remembered seeing.

Well it kind of does make sense. For example, I don't eat hot food for breakfast. But it is nice to be allowed to get (for example) a bagel, a fruit bowl and 2 juices for a CS breakfast.

Depending what you would want to eat and what the CS restaurant will allow you to take to make up a continental breakfast, you are right - it might not be the best option for you. A snack credit works well for me and I buy a yogurt OOP, but we are on the QSDP so the refillable mugs mean there is a drink available with the meal. If you are on the regular DDP, then this does not factor into the equation.

One morning, we each got an item from the Boardwalk Bakery + used our refillable mugs, and we had breakfast for 1 snack credit/person. Another morning, I picked up muffins for everyone at The Lunching pad for 1 snack credit each. Another morning, my DDs and I had breakfast at Kouzzina while DH slept in, and we used our last 2 snack credits on that reservation (we were changing resorts that day) to get him a croissant and fruit from the Bakery. We also brought his refillable mug along with us for coffee.
