Smugglers Run - May 22nd Updates Question

Good afternoon, I have seen the articles about the updates being made to Smugglers Run that are going into effect on May 22nd but I haven't seen anywhere if the ride needs to be closed for them to make those updates. We are going to be there in April 2026 so I was wondering if the ride needs to be closed to put those changes into effect or since its a video type ride they can do it all without closing.

I don't think they've said anything either way. It's possible they provide more info at D23 later this month.

Disney has not announced if it will be closed for refurb prior to May 22 yet.
