Smores at POR?

I just finished listening to this weeks email show. Someone asked what free things there were to do at Disney. Kathy started to say you can get smores at POR. Does anyone have any information about that? Does it still happen? Where does it happen? We'll be at POR next week and that sounds like fun!

You might try asking on the Resorts board. The webmaster of
http://www.portorleans.org hangs out there, and should be able to answer. I would like to know as well for my trip next year.

Campfire on de’ Bayou

Enjoy stories and sing-a-longs while making your own s’mores around the evening campfire (S’mores kits are available for purchase for $7). The campfire location is behind the Muddy Rivers pool bar on Ol’ Man Island, just next to the children’s playground.

This is a relatively new seasonal activity and in 2007/08 it took place from November to February on Sunday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm until 8pm.

The campfire will recommence again on Sundays and Thursdays from 31 October 2008 until March 2009.

Sadly it looks as though Maggie will miss this by a few days this year, sorry.

For those wishing to make it even cheaper the purchase of one smores kit is plenty for several people. Also, you can attend the camp fire without the smores kit and join in with the other activities happening.

We did the camp fire with DS (8 then) on Halloween a few years ago. The first one of the season and they spooked it up a little (without making it scary). DS really enjoyed it and end up smothered in melted chocolate and marshmallow.
