Does anyone know if they still allow smoking at Jellyrolls, I would love to visit on my next trip if they do not allow smoking any longer. Thanks

I was just there in the beginning of Feb and smoking was allowed. I was surprised that it did not smell like smoke though. And my clothing did not smell either after we left. They must have a really good system to get the smoke out????

Was there Friday, Sunday and Monday nights and there was still smoking. I'm a non-smoker and the smoke was almost non-existent on those nights - it really depends on the night and how crowded it gets...

So true! Depends on the crowd, and the night. We have found Sunday and Monday to be the least smokey, and Tuesday and Saturdays to be the worst.

Jellyrolls just had a make-over in December and it shows!!!!
The place looks great and when we were there in Jan. there were
lots of people there, but there wasn't any smoke in the air. It was a good time!
Give it a try:thumbsup2

We were there in January and walked over with the intent on going inside but as soon as we opened the door the smoke just assaulted you. I guess we're more sensitive to it since coming from NJ, it has been banned in public places and so nice to have to breathe in that air! We didn't go to Jellyrolls and I can't see going back until they ban it there as well. Does anyone know why you can still smoke in there?

Many times when we've walked by and the doors were open, we could smell the smoke without going inside. It's too bad, because it sounds like a lot of fun.

I totally agree! It's so nice that the bars here don't allow smoking anymore. I was just at Jellyrolls the second weekend in February. That was actually the first time I've been there, and we were there for a good hour and a half before anyone started to smoke. All of a sudden, these two girls came in and lit up right away, and the entire place began to smell. It took us 15 minutes before we had to get up and leave. My sinuses started to get clogged and my eyes started to get very dry (obviously I'm pretty sensitive to smoke!:lmao: ) and we just had to leave because at that point it wasn't fun anymore.

I was at Jellyrolls a week ago for the first time. I am VERY sensitive to smoke--it makes me cough and feel sick. However, somebody on the DISboards told me Jellyrolls has a good ventilation system, so despite the blast of smoky air at the entrance, DH and I went in anyway.

There were people smoking on each side of us, but the smoke really wasn't too bad. I swear there is a cool updraft that pulls the smoke up out of the air (and probably shoots it out the door, which is why you can smell it so strongly at the doorway ;) ).

When we left, my hair and clothes DID NOT smell like smoke. I couldn't believe it.

Although I wish they would ban smoking at Jellyrolls (I'm amazed they and the Dance Club on the Boardwalk let people smoke indoors, considering that you can't smoke indoors anywhere at Pleasure Island), I wouldn't let that stop me from going again--DH and I had a hilarious couple of hours there!

I went to WDW a couple of years ago with a pregnant friend. We knew that Florida had banned smoking in all restaurants, so we thought it extended to bars. It doesn't. The bouncer told us (and I didn't verify this info anywhere, so take it for what it's worth) that as long as less than 15% of their revenue comes from food, they can allow smoking... and they had no plans to serve food (other than the free popcorn) nor did they have plans to stop allowing smoking. Since she was pregnant, we didn't go in.

I always marvel at the fact they allow smoking, simply because it must be terrible on the vocal chords of the musicians! But as sensitive as I am to smoke, I do generally go and don't notice the smoke too badly once inside. I believe also, since they aren't owned by Disney, they don't have to abide by the Smoke-Free policy on property.

So delighted to find that the US hasn't become an all-out fascist dictatorship like the UK. I'm looking forward to having a cigarette indoors on my next trip :-)

Sorry, most of Florida is a fascist dictatorship. ;) The exception are bars that make less than 10% of their revenue from food, BUT Pleasure Island is 100% smoke-free indoors.

I travel to Europe a lot on business, and was surprised on my first few trips that smoking is allowed in bars and restaurants there. Guess I am too used to NY policy of no smoking, and not being a smoker, the smoking over there was a little annoying. Some of the coworkers enjoyed it, but the smell lingers with you. Also surprising as I generally perceive the Europeans to be more health concious, with more folks out and about doing some form of activity, be it hiking, biking, playing soccer, etc.

All Disney property is non-smoking except designated areas, but Jellyrolls is privately owned. The ventilation system they have in place is very effective - it has to be to protect the piano players voices!!

I completely agree that it's no fun eating in a smokey environment - but I wish we had the 10% rule in the UK! Here you can't smoke indoors - anywhere!

Since everyone else is voicing their opinions I feel I can voice mine.

I am glad it is not smoke free and hope it stays that way. It is nice that there one place left at Disney that welcomes me and my smoking.
