Smoking?

What's the policy on smoking in the parks & restaurants?

I think I remember reading that the parks have designated smoking areas. Are the restaurants smoke-free? What about the restaurants at the hotels, and in Downtown Disney? I read that the Pleasure Island clubs are smoke-free (yay for me!), so I'm wondering about everywhere else.

All of the restuarants throughout Disney are smoke free, including the clubs at PI. In the parks there are designated areas for smoking. They are scattered throughout the parks and marked on the maps.

Unfortunately alot of guests don't abide by these rules. My DD is allergic to cigarette smoke and we had a terrible time in January with people lighting up around her.

We noticed people smoking as they were walking thru the parks a lot a couple of weeks ago when we were there. They really might have thought that it was OK since they were outside, but we heard many times that smoking is only permitted in the parks in designated smoking areas.......

From a smoker's perspective now. Yes, designated spots in each of the parks, all of which are outdoors, and tend to be in areas of the beaten path. In PI the clubs are smoke-free, but you tend to find a lot of people smoking on the street. Every Disney restaurant is smoke-free. Not all guests pay attention to the rules and to me this just shows a lack of common courtesy.
