I too am a nonsmoker which was raised by smokers. My Mom now has emphysema and my father died of lung cancer 9 months ago. I'm not fan of smoking but I do not make a major issue of it. I don't jump on the "prohibit smoking" bandwagon as honestly it is their right to smoke. It's their lungs and if they choose to blacken them it is their business, not mine. I am truly opposed to all the regulations and limits placed on the rights of those who do smoke. Everyone is all too quick to condemn a habit and want it prohibited everywhere, including outdoors. When your habit of choice becomes the next target will you all be so willing to jump on that bandwagon too? I'm not so sure that limiting and prohibiting someone's personal freedom is the right avenue to go down. It's only a matter of time when it's your freedom that becomes politically correct to condemn.
One thing which always comes to mind. Everyone is so concerned about that second hand smoke that they are forced to inhale. What about that car exhaust. Those fumes are much more toxic but I don't see many wanting cars prohibited. Hmmm.....
