Smoking at store entrances..Inspired by Jodi1980s thread

I am so bothered by people (mostly employees) of stores and restaurants smoking right at the entrances to their stores. I think it is disgusting for those of us who don't smoke to have to walk through the cloud to get through the door. I litterally hold my breath so I don't have to breath it in. I wish the owners or managers would have these people smoke where the public is not affected by it. Did I just rant?...Sorry!

Oh, I hate this. I don't care if people smoke, but this is gross. Especially when it is a place that deals in food, like walking into a wawa or grocery store, and you have to walk thru the cigarette smoke. I have asthma, triggered by things like this. This is rude and the companies should forbid it, providing an appropriate place for their employees to smoke.

there is no other place to smoke - I think holding your breath in these circumstances is the best thing to do.

I hate this too! It happens at my office, the smokers all walk right outside the door in the parking lot and smoke there. They have 2 huge parking lots and a walking path they could walk on, and there is a large smoking room with tables, but they all do it right outside the door. I have to hold my breath often when I arrive at work. Not yesterday of course, since it never made it about 0 LOL.

I'm with you guys and also hold my breath so I don't have to take it in. It would be nice if folks could just move like 15 feet down the sidewalk and away from the entrance so we don't have to walk throught the haze! Most often it's the employees . . .

Last stay at CBR I couldn't believe how many smokers stand right outside the door to their Non-smoking room so that it's hard to go around. I've always wondered why they can't take a short walk to a more open area like the parking lot and give non-smokers a break? I know some people do and I really appreciate that.

I couldn't believe last year when visiting my sister in the hospital. The hospital had actually posted signs outside at the entrance to the cardiac wing that said "no smoking area" - and of course people in hospital garb were standing right under it puffing away!
