I saw someone reference cigar smoking at Raglan Road.

I have asthma and couldn't eat at a restaurant where there is smoking, even if it is another section, unless it is closed off.

Can someone tell me if there is smoking permitted at this restaurant?

No, smoking is not allowed at Raglan Road, or any other restaurant in the state of Florida. :thumbsup2

Go and have fun - you'll be fine.

I think that there is a cigar shop next to Raglan Road. Maybe thats what they meant.

No smoking is permitted inside Raglan Road.

I agree they may have been referring to the cigar shop next door.

Do they allow smoking outside on the patio? I've never been out there.

There is no smoking in any restaurants.

I don't recall any smoking on the patio. It is part of the restaurant so I don't think it would be allowed. There were people walking around smoking in the Pleasure Island area itself.

Some years ago there was a state law passed in FL for the "clean air" act which meant NO SMOKING in restaurants. (certain bars that serve mostly liquor and virtually no food still allow smoking though). Although, even when PI's clubs were still opened they stopped allowing smoking in the clubs as well. Of course, now all of the resorts in WDW are NON-SMOKING as well and there are only "designated smoking areas" in the parks (although some people tend to ignore these rules).

BUT, I do have to add as far as the restaurants go, FL has LOTS of outdoor seating because, well because it's FL and it's nice to sit outside much of the year but be forewarned, this is where all the smokers sit too, including cigar smokers. So, if you have asthma, as nice as it may be outside when you're there, make sure you don't sit outside as a table of smokers can be just right next to you.;)

Jellyrolls is one of them, and that's why I don't like going there.

I live in NY, and there there is no smoking in restaurants or bars. Basically, it's outside or in your own home only.

I just wasn't sure about any similar laws in FL. I did know Disney didn't allow smoking in their restaurants or hotel rooms, but I wasn't sure if DTD restaurants were different.

I recently went to a restaurant at a casino in NJ and totally forgot about the old "smoking/non smoking sections". I sat down and started eating, when a table next to me lit up! :sad2: My own fault, but I don't want to ever make that mistake again.

Thanks for the info!

that shouldn't have happened! There is no smoking in any eating establishment in NJ, including in the casinos. As of right now, there are designated places on the casino floors that allow smoking, but definitely not in the restaurants!

I was at the Harbor Nights event at the Portofino Bay Hotel last night. It's an outdoor event on the "harbor" of the resort. There were food and wine stations throughout the large area, and there were several thousand attendees -- and half of them were smoking big fat cigars, encouraged by the hotel, which had a cigar-rolling booth. I found it impossible to enjoy the food and wine with so much smoke. It would have been nice if they'd designated an area for the smokers.
Some restaurants in Florida have two patios and designate one nonsmoking. Sadly, Raglan isn't one of them. Smoking is allowed on the patio. But you want to be inside anyway because that's where all the fun is.
