Smoking at Pop?

I am taking a trip to wdw with my parents. I don't smoke so I booked my family a "no smoking" room. I was going to book my parents a smoking room and then found out it may not even be in the same building as our room. So my question is... if I book my parents a no smoking room next to mine,, is there areas outside at Pop where smoking is allowed, that way they can have a cig when they leave the room sometime. There are no official "smoking areas" at Pop. You can smoke anywhere outside. My husband smokes and we had a nonsmoking room. But there are no ashtrays in the buildings, only at the elevator, so my husband just saved a pop can and used that when he smoked outside our room.

Just so you know, it is possible for you to have a non-smoking room, and then just a few feet around the corner, your parents can have thier smoking optional room. It won't be adjoining, or connecting, but it can be close.

I know people need to have their smoke fix, however I wish that they wouldn't do it in on the walkways outside the rooms. Nothing worse than opening up a non smoking room door and walking into a cloud of smoke coming from the person next door who got a non smoking room and has to smoke outside--- same with the balconies at the deluxes. As I am allergic, even that little bit of exposure can be enough to ruin my day.

This is why my supposedly non-smoking room had a terrible odor of cigarette smoke in the bathroom last year. They should make entire buildings non-smoking, not just one side of it.

I completely agree! I cannot be anywhere near smoke, so if it happens, I guess we will be moving! I have on my ressie "guaranteed non smoking".

I'm allergic too, eeyore0062. One good inhale and I've got a blinding headache for hours. While I managed to avoid those smoking on the balcony at POP, there was still a mine field of black ashes on the floor. You could definitely tell where the smokers were staying.

Thanks Tyler,, I will look into that. When I talked to them at 407-wdisney, they said that the smoking room will most likely be in a seperate building than we are in. Thanks for the glimmer of hope!

There's absolutly no reason why it would be in a separate building. Worst case scenario is that they're down the hall, or around the corner. Just make sure it's notated on the reservation that y'all want to be near each other, and the room assigner will do what they can. Also reiterate it upon check in.
