Smoking at AKL

For those who have been wondering about the smoking policy on balconies at AKL I was told that there is no smoking allowed on any balcony at AKL whatsoever. Even if you have a standard view smoking optional room you can not smoke on your balcony. I had to initial something to that effect at check in.

We just returned from 4 nights at AKL Concierge. We had a choice of Savanah view or Pool View. We had requested smoking optional.

I clarified with the Concierge staff in the lounge about the smoking policies of the rooms. We were told that there is absolutely no smoking allowed on any Savanah view room balcony, however, smoking is allowed on the balconies of Pool View Rooms.
