Barb - it's the same at restaurants around here....no-smoking always has a line-
so maybe they should make ALL of the verandahs non-smoking and let the smokers smoke only in the already existing designated public areas.....
i can tell you that i might be able to survive a cigarette smoker next to me, but if it's a cigar???.....not likely....
Bob Noble - lines not ropes....gottcha....and there were lots and lots of lines....it seemed as if they shot the first line from the ship to the guys on shore (dock?)....actually, it seemed as if they shot something else that was dragging the line....it took a good 20 minutes to get all the lines in place....
then it seemed as if the guys who did that work got in their cars/trucks and drove away...(maybe to be in place for the next ship coming in...i think that the wonder was the first one in....)
for the wonder, once the lines were in place, all the hi-los started moving.....i was hypnotized by the activity....
