I am a smoker. And I do repect other peoples rights not to have my smoke wafting in their faces. Non-smoking rooms should be non-smoking, including the balcony.
However, I do believe Disneys smoking policies are becoming a bit much. Case in point. After dinner at MGM, I sat down at a park bench, 100 yards from the nearest human, (it was a very quiet day at the park) to enjoy a cig. I was spotted by a Disney employee and asked to extinquish my smoke. I did - without argument. Seems a bit over done to me.
Case in point. Strolling along the boardwalk with my kids one evening we were nearly run over by a rented bike. As the bike passed, the driver was sloshing his beer as he pedaled away.
Open alcohol in a family oriented park is allowed anywhere. You could stand in line at Dumbo and drink beer. Is that right. Alcohol breeds trouble and is detrimental to the health and well being of the parks and its inhabitants. Alcohol also generates dollars. HMMMM! Smoking doesn't.
Case in point. Standing in line at Space Mountain, a woman very close to me poured a bottle of the most god-awful perfume on herself. I found it very offensive. Should she be herded to the perfume section? Silly? I think not.
I do believe there should be smoking restrictions through out the parks. But I also have rights. And I do not like to be singled out like a criminal. Do you?
Just my 10 cents (inflation)!
