Smokey Bones

We went once. Honestly, wasn't really impressed. The food wasn't bad - just nothing better than you could get at Sonny's but much more expensive.

But - I'm obviously in the minority on this one because the one here is always packed! :confused3

I've been several times. It's ok but not spectacular- I prefer a BBQ place near my parents'. Pricewise it's close to Bugaboo Creek/Outback/Longhorn I think.

How did you know what I was gonna say?

However, the owners of Smokey Bones are BIG TIME BBQ award winners. But when mass producing BBQ, it is much harder to keep quality the same.

Smokey Bones might run you $50 - $60 for dinner for a family of 4. + or -.

We went there once, because we had a gift card for there. The food was ok, but we weren't overly impressed with them either. The donuts on the dessert menu were probably the best thing we ate...those were really good.

I like Smokey Bones’ turkey breast with BBQ sauce a lot. It’s one of my dad’s favorite BBQ places, though I think most cities have local places that are a bit better. I always go there for lunch (which is a pretty good deal – I think it’s priced similarly to Chili’s), but I’m not sure about dinner prices.

If there are not any other BBQ places in your area, then Smokey Bones is ok...
Otherwise, it is just ordinary.
However, they have a frozen margarita and daquari combo that is GREAT!!

I have no other BBQ places nearby, so I think it's not too bad. Prices are similar to Chili's/Applebees, etc

It may be now. However it was started by a BBQ team called Smokey Bones.

DH and I went there for lunch a few weeks ago, neither of us were very impressed and have no plans to go back. It was "all right" but we thought it was too expensive for what we got.

I guess i must be weird but YUM!!! We love it there and go frequently. I had my birthday there last year and I think we may do that again this year (next week). It usually runs the 3 of us 50 with tip. We order 2 appetizers entrees and the kids meal for DD. No alcohol usually.

Smokey Bones, Olive Garden, Red Lobster.... all owned by the Darden group I believe.

I think you're right. I got a gift card for Olive Garden, and I remember that it could also be used as those restaurants, also Bahama Breeze too.

One went in here in the past year - we went back then, but have not been back. Not too impressive. The rib eaters in the family prefer other chains or our local Dinosaur BBQ. The only thing we liked was the cornbread - it is awesome, but not enough to bring you back to a restaurant. Yes, Ithey are DArden - I remember the original plan for that spot was Red Lobster, but they put SB in first, then RL down the road.

Smokey Bones is owned by Darden. It was started by Darden, and it was not owned by another company or group. Darden started them from day 1. I have a close family member that has been employed with Smokey Bones since the first year they opened, so I am kind of partial to them. :)

We like it because they are heavily themed- kinda reminds us of being in WDW! :rotfl2:

The atmosphere is kinda fun, food is just okay.

I wouldn't refuse to go back if someone else wanted to go, but I would not choose it on my own.

Now, Bahama Breeze (owned by the same company) is A-OK in my book! I love going there when I need a nice "mini-mini-vacation."
