Yesterday I booked rooms 7028 and 7030 (port side) on the Disney wonder for July 2022.
Is smoke going to be a problem?
I didn't even know this was an issue and I need adjoining rooms, so I doubt I'll be able to switch!
Thanks!

I need adjoining rooms,

Just a technical matter if changing becomes an issue (or actually for any future travel when you are booking 2 rooms and want to request that they have a door between)... If you mean 2 rooms with a door in between, you need to ask for CONNECTING rooms. In travel-speak adjoining and connecting mean different things. Rooms can adjoin (be next door, across the hall, diagonally, or back to back) but not connect.

Thanks! Sorry, I’m new to this. Yes, we have connecting rooms.

It's ok. It is a VERY common mistake. A good TA or reservations agent will ask for clarification, but having worked in hotel reservations before, I've seen far too many people who had TAs or reservations agents who didn't clarify (OR the person themselves insisted even while being asked specifically that "I want to request adjoining rooms" (I'd always note what the guest said in the "notes" section for the inevitable complaint) and actually do get adjoining rooms but they needed/wanted connecting. So I try to help people learn where I can. :)

Yes, you will be able to smell cigarette smoke while out on your veranda. I am allergic and very sensitive to it and I can smell it from anywhere in the adult area and in rooms on that side of the ship. I actually had a room on that side once and could not use the veranda. But I am extremely sensitive to it(I have a hyper sense of smell which does not help) and get an allergic reaction so it is an issue for me.

Smoking is an interesting issue on cruise ships. In much of the Western world we are so used to the restrictions being on the smoker. But cruise ships cater to International passengers. I listened in to an interesting and respectful conversation between a couple of officers on the Magic and an international passenger who noted that Disney's smoking policy would be illegal in his homeland. There, the restrictions would not be on the smoker. Instead of smoking areas in his homeland, they have non-smoking areas. It's a big a different world for sure.
