Smidgy and the Grump, Freaky Friday, 11-06

To me the 2 $200 giftcards were "free money"......why on earth would I spend it on food?;)

!

YOU MEAN TO TELL ME, that you blew the whole wad on ALCOHOL?

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Nebo, very funny update again!

Love you making your secret smoking area on the 4th floor :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the next update.

Marita, you going back to Germany next month? Great!

Anyway - I love reading this thread !

:cool1:

Me too! I just wish the guy who is writing most of it would do it a little more often.

Smidgy I feel your pain. When we were at Pop Century this past Jan we also encountered French speaking Canadians. It sooo confused DS. First they were speaking English to each other then they switched to French. He looked at me then looked back at them looked at me & said" Momma why are those people talking different?" I said they were speaking French he said " but they were just talking regular to me a minute ago?" Then DD pops in with "why would they speak French if they are from Canada? They are wearing Candian flag shirts." So as I am slouching further down into my seat on the bus I answer that half of Canada does speak French. Darling wonderful DS speaks at his best loudest decibel levels " thats weird why would you speak 2 different languages?":confused3:confused3

Needless to say I put him on my lap & tried to hide from our neighbors from up north the rest of the bus ride.:rotfl:

Kayte that's a great story, so, you're sayin I should then put Smidgy on my lap to get her to shut up?

I just got this from the "boss" today :)

Oooh, I can't wait to (a) read your review of Biergarten and (b) go there in September!

Lisa, if you have ever read any of my restaurant reviews, you would know never to read any of my restaurant reviews. For a better review of Biergarten you should probably read Winkers report, she was there with us.

Can't wait to ride that - missed it the first time. Do you think it'll be too scary for my then 7yo son?

No, not at all, one little scary part, then it's all hugs and kisses.

LOL! For the record, only about 23% of Canadians primarily speak French and, of those, about 80% of francophones live in Quebec. In fact, Chinese is the third most popular language in Canada at over 18%.
:

I'll come clean now, they actually did say Quebec, but when I typed it out, the spelling didn't quite look right, so I changed it to Montreal, don't ask, who knows the reasons I do things?

tomorrow.

It's like this;
If we were on the first floor, it would have been no problem to walk over to one of the smoking areas, and the second floor is also no problem, I don't mind one flight of stairs. But Pop has 4 floors with a stairway over by the lake side.

Anybody on the fourth floor used the elevator, no need to walk all the way down or up. There are also no corner rooms at the values, meaning no double windows, so the staircase side of the building is just that, a staircase and that's all that's over there. And, since the lake at Pop is just a "lookin at" lake, meaning that you can't swim, boat, canoe, fish, sail, or use it for anything but to look at, there is no reason again for anyone to use the stairs that lead down to it.

It made a great unauthorized smoking spot on the top floor, our of site of everybody, which was helpful when it's 35 degrees out and raining. I spent more time hiding in that Duncan Yo Yo then I ever did playing with one as a kid. :cheer2:
that is the exact building we were in last time, on the top floor (corner room) lol, and I used the yo-yo alot, never seen anyone back there, so thats where I went, especially when it was pouring out.
You're also right about Randy and Myself included. We have been wanting a package with just counter services, so that's the way we would have went. Dont get me wrong, I love the sit down table services, but I hate it when I have to get everyone together to get to our reservations on time.
as usual, great update.

I still like my first idea better, no having to be at a certain place at a certain time, no "saving" yourself for the "real" meal.
Just lots of ribs at Flame Tree, chicken parmisagna at Riverside, jambalaya at French Quarter, and chili-cheese dogs at Cosmic Ray's when I want the back of the bus all to myself at the end of Wishes. :scared1:
I have to say, you make it sound very good - yummy choices. Except for that last bit. :sad2: With that, I'm jumping off the hypothetical bus, thank you very much. :rotfl:

Anybody else have their favorite animatronic?
Sleeping monk in Spaceship Earth. :thumbsup2

Tuesday; sunny and clear, high of 52
Wednsday; sunny, high 54
Thurday; sunny, high 55
Friday; sunny, high 64
One bright spot here - once you're down here permanently, and go through a summer or two, 55 will start looking mighty fine! :rotfl:

Here's a shot you don't see all the time.
Does everybody know what it is?

From the patio by the Plaza, looking toward Tomorrowland. Which brings us to today, a MK day.

Early that morning after sticking my bald head out the door, Happy, happy, happy was going to be no match for Grumpy Gills today.
It was Freezing!

Ok, ok, it's a MK day, Magic Kingdom always makes me smile.
Fine, now, what to wear?
It's still early in the trip, but my situation is getting desperate, already.

In my designated drawers, as designated by "She who must not be disturbed", I still have 7 untouched tank tops, 6 untouched shorts, and countless shorty socks so I don't look like a complete dork when I wear the shorts.

None of these items have even been touched yet, except to be pushed out of the way to find something a tad warmer. It's tuesday, we've been in Florida since friday, and I'm still wearing long jeans, and regular type socks.

Trust me, today is not going to be any different. But I'm already down to 2 pairs of regular socks, and those are supposed to be for the drive home.

Hmnm, gonna have to improvise here. Let's see, yesterday because of the puddles and the holey shoes, that ate up two pairs. I checked the ones that got soaked, and yep, still soaked. Now, I hate putting on socks that have already been warn, but looks like I don't have a choice, and I only wore them half a day yesterday afternoon and night.

"Honey, have you seen the socks I had on yesterday?"

"Last I saw they were standing up in the corner next to the book bag. Why, You're not thinking of,,,,,,?"

"Shut."
"Up."
"You."

Like I said, improvise.

At least the rain had stopped, and you can see the sky breaking up, sun peaking through.

I ran down for a smoke, and to pick up a newspaper for later, sometimes they run out and Diane gets crabby when she can't do a Sudoku. Believe it or not, it's supposed to be a split stay day, with some pool time in between. Yeah, right.

As I walked past the pool I stopped to read the chalkboard. They have the high today at 53, and then the park hours. I did notice one thing, Blizzard Beach was closed.
Gosh, ya think?

On the way back up, I shared a ride with a young couple and their small son. None of them looked happy, with her looking like she was about to spit nails, and I could just tell that it was because of the cold, also.

So, you think I would just mind my own business and leave them alone?
Coarse not.

All I said was, "Next winter I'm going someplace warm, like Cleveland."

Nobody laughed, and she just glared at me, fire shooting out of her eyes.
I just looked down and mumbled, "hokay." Now that little remark brought a very small chuckle from the man standing next to me, a chuckle that I was certain he was going to live to regret.

And again, sans camera, we made rope drop with a lot more people than I would have expected. In the past I have always taken a picture of myself, and lately of Diane in the rocking chair in the smoking area near BTMR. But nope, not today, I don't want to remember this trip as the one where I wore a jacket most of the time. Besides, I don't look good in goosebumps. We will be back this trip, it's gotta be warmer sometime, right? As we are standing in the courtyard waiting for the good morning welcome routine show to begin, Diane suddenly hisses in my ear, "Steve, what are you doing? Put out the cigarette!"

One problem, I wasn't smoking, and I told her very loudly that I wasn't.

"I'm NOT smoking!"

"That's my breath you see, look, everyone is smoking."

It was that cold out. Once the ropes were dropped, the key was to stay in the sunshine, so everybody walked right down the center of the street. And, for some reason, nobody headed to Splash Mountain, the entire group of us made a right and went on to Tomorrowland.

What our plan here lately is, collect as many fastpasses we can in the morning, to use later when we come back. It's a good plan, especially if it's crowded.

Except not today. It's a tuesday in the tundra, crowds weren't a problem. We rode Buzz, got a fastpass. Then hit the dark rides in Fantasyland, which I liked much more than normal cuz they were inside, where it was warm.

Rodey Big Thunder, got a fastpass.

Did Pirates, Tiki Birds, yes, Tiki Birds, I like it, not sure why. At Jungle Cruise they weren't issuing fastpasses today, and the line was 25 minutes so we skipped it. Grabbed a fastpass for Space Mountain, then hit Laugh Floor and we were ready to head on back. It was about 11:30 and the sun felt pretty good, had the stupid idea that maybe if might be ok to at least lie in a lawn chair and read the paper.

Once again, in the room I put on my suit and pants over it.
And brought my jacket.

I thought that since the bowling pin pool was more enclosed by buildings, tht it might be less windy over there, so away we went.
Yep, wrong again, the buildings acted as a wind tunnel, we never even got settled in a chair, just turned around and went back to the Hippy Dippy Pool.

I lasted 20 minutes.
Which was about 15 minutes more than I would have liked. She said she was going to try it a bit more, and I went back to our room and changed again.

Then I started drinking.

Heh, Hey, nothing else to do!

With drink in hand, I then went and spent some quality time with myself in my special yo yo.

Later on, we are on our way back to the MK, Sunny D's in hand.
I have to say, it seemed like we were just going through the motions tonight, there was no Spectro, we positioned ourselves on Main street for Wishes and left without even using the Space Mountain fastpasses.
No, wasn't going to even try to give them away.

That night we had sandwiches and chips and cheese and crackers in the room, and I'm now getting gun shy about even turning on the weather channel. I remember on most trips, always watching the Disney preview channels, felt like I got to know Stacy personally. :scared1:

Now, I don't want to even see her in her shorts and midriffs, looking all tan and sweaty.

Wednsday morning while Diane was getting dressed, I turned the dang tv on again, and that's when I found out.

"Diane, you will be just so proud to know, that two hours ago, we set the all time low temperature for this day in Orlando, it got down to 26 degrees, and I am just so thrilled that you and I could be a part of it!"

"Up yours."

Wow, "Mrs. Grumpy Gills" shows up, it was finally getting to her.

Now I'm wishing I had long underwear. THis is NUTS! I don't have even the slightest little band of white under my wristwatch band, cuz the rest of my body is still bone white too!

To coin someone else's phrase: "As God is my witness, I will never come back in February again!"

Today is another split stay day, Animal Kingdom this time. I have always done the AK on EMH day, it makes a great way to see all the shows, and get to be in the park at night which is pretty cool looking.

Before we left I ran to my yo yo for a quick smoke, and DAMN it was cold.

AHEM! Damn it was cold!

(Oh, ok, "How cold was it?")

thank you

It was so cold:

That two guys were ice fishing on the Computer Pool. :scared1:
It was so cold:

That when the Magical Depress Bus pulled up, the folks waiting let out a big cheer!! :dance3:
It was so cold:

That Mr and Mrs Potato Head went back in the oven. :lmao:

And, it was so cold:
That before Wishes started, Tinkerbell's Flight was grounded due to icing on her wings!

It was that cold for a wednsday in Florida. :sad2:

Yes, I know, I don't play with smileys much, but sometimes they can be lots of fun.

We drove to AK, that was mistake number one. You see, this weather is playing havoc with my foot, and with all it went through last fall, it is not holding up well. This was too far of a walk today for me, and the first thing we want to do is Kilimanjaro Safari, again, an incredible walk way to the back with the pushing and shoving throng.

We have made it in the second car in the past, and even though we started out near the front, no such thing was gonna happen today. About a hundred people passed us as I limped along. It still wasn't much of a wait, and apparently the animals were all looking for some sunshine too, as there were plenty to see today.

We sat right behind the driver/guide, and he was just terrific. What made me like him even more was that he had to yell at some folks in the back a couple of times to keep their kid sitting down.

I kept waiting to hear, "If I have to turn around one more time young man, I'm going to turn this truck right around and we are going back home!"

On the way out I told him he was excellent at his work, and he seemed to appreciate it. Then I tried to give him a fastpass. (just kidding)

Sorry, Diane and I didn't get into another "No new news on the gnus" today.

We saw the Screamin Kids Show, (It's tough to be a Bug), and then sat right up front for "Finding Nebo".
I mean Nemo.

I never get tired of this show, probably have seen it now 6 times, it is just phenomenal, don't miss it!

WIth that, we left.

Our original plan was to either go check out more homesites, but we have already decided we know where we want to live,,,,,, or go and check out Old Key West and maybe rent bikes there,,, but it was too dang cold.

In the car, I started thinking, uh huh, to a trained eye, which as myopic as it is, is still highly trained when it comes to DisneyWorld, you can see the cutbacks that have been made. For one thing, less DSA's. That's designated smoking areas for the uniniatated. I guess less clean up? I already said they cut down the life guards from 12 to 10 at the pool, but even the ride in Fantasyland yesterday. To a trained eye you will notice that it is now Snow White and the 4 Dwarfs.

They laid off Sneezy, Grumpy and Bashful.

Other things too, we had the longest wait at MK in the middle of the day for a bus, unusual for Pop Century. Plus, and I know it was colder this trip, we were there last February, and the pools at Coronado and the ASMO were much more heated. There was still more to come.

I cannot for the life of me remember what we did back at the resort, I think we tried to take a nap, with my version of a nap staring at the ceiling, but before I knew it, I was making drinks again, and we were ready to head on back to AK.

Now,,,,, THIS,,,,,, was a HUGE,,, MISTAKE!

as you shall soon see.

ttfn, neebs :woohoo:

on a side note, every once in a while I have a really great time writing an installment, and think that I done good. This was one of those times. No, the memories aren't the best, I AM SICK OF THE COLD!, but I was glad to find some laughs in a chapter when all I want to do is skip ahead to when it finally gets warmer. Hope you all enjoyed it too. nebo :flower3:

Nebo, funny chapter again. Loved the corny jokes. Glad things finally warmed up. I remember freezing my tush off too.

We saw the Screamin Kids Show, (It's tough to be a Bug), and then sat right up front for "Finding Nebo".

Hmm, Finding Nebo, that sounds oddly familiar

And yes, I am going back to Germany in May for my mom's 95th birthday! She is doing fairly well, but it's a big occasion, and at her age you just never know.

And I am happy to report that DH and I survived the Great Layoff of 2009, at least for now.

SO, you are saying it was cold:confused: :rotfl2:

Sorry I shouldn't make fun:hug:

I do hope it warms up for you soon! And remember a cold day at Disney is better than any day any where else ::yes::

"That's my breath you see, look, everyone is smoking."

It was that cold out.
"Diane, you will be just so proud to know, that two hours ago, we set the all time low temperature for this day in Orlando, it got down to 26 degrees, and I am just so thrilled that you and I could be a part of it!"

Yeah, I remember when we got there. Their low was our high where we came from. No Nebo, we don't live in the arctic, but really close.:lmao:

"Up yours."

Wow, "Mrs. Grumpy Gills" shows up, it was finally getting to her.

Now I'm wishing I had long underwear. THis is NUTS! I don't have even the slightest little band of white under my wristwatch band, cuz the rest of my body is still bone white too!

I guess Grumpy wears off. Is it some kind of disease when it gets cold and gloomy outside?????

To coin someone else's phrase: "As God is my witness, I will never come back in February again!"

AHEM! Damn it was cold!

(Oh, ok, "How cold was it?")

thank you

It was so cold:

That two guys were ice fishing on the Computer Pool. :scared1:

They might have even caught something.... Like a cold!!!!:headache:

It was so cold:

That when the Magical Depress Bus pulled up, the folks waiting let out a big cheer!! :dance3:

:yay::yay::yay::yay::dance3::dance3::dance3: <- My depiction of the arrival of the bus...

It was so cold:

That Mr and Mrs Potato Head went back in the oven. :lmao:

They had to meet their friends from France, The Fry Family.

And, it was so cold:
That before Wishes started, Tinkerbell's Flight was grounded due to icing on her wings!

It was that cold for a wednsday in Florida. :sad2:

I was told if she flew her wings would fall off and a horrible scene thereafer would ensue. Kids running in terror, adults yelling to use pixy dust pixiedust: and the irony of the applause afterward to try to bring poor tink splat back to life.... :scared1:

To a trained eye you will notice that it is now Snow White and the 4 Dwarfs.

They laid off Sneezy, Grumpy and Bashful.

That's cause you and Mrs. Grumpy showed up. They thought there were more than one and let the wrong ones go.:rolleyes1

I remember one year we went in December and my son stayed in his sweat suit the whole time. We had all brought shorts and t's because it's Florida and everyone knows in warm in Florida. Right?? That was way back when we were newbys. Now whenever we go we make sure to bring enough warm clothes.

Great chapter Nebo as always.

So....I'm guessing it was cold during your trip! ;) I had to laugh at the Mr. and Mrs. Potato head joke. I'm hoping it's a little cold when we go in December, you know like in the 60's, not the 30's. Brrr. But I would still take 30's-40's over 90's.

How long till you headed down to do laundry? :laundy:

I love the "I don't look good in goosebumps" line!:lmao:

While you were freezing your assets off in MK, we were doing the same in DHS. If there was a patch of sun, we were in it.

Hey there!

Trying to get caught up. As you know, I am a slow but thorough reader. I am not using the skim method of TR up-catching like some people. (Hi, Wendee!)

I must admit I skim for TR updates and do not read the witty banter in between. Unless I come across my picture or something.

So did you resolve the issue with AOL. I hate AOL. I used to have it too and paid through the nose. Then I found out I could upgrade to broadband for only a couple of bucks more. (And so could you if you're paying $25/month!!!!) The AOL execs are rubbing their grubby paws together and giving a little sneer/chuckle over people who are still paying those fees for dial-up. You can use netzero for almost zero.

In fact you might even pay less for broadband. If you can find an ISP that has broadband service compatible with Windows 85. Heh.

AND. The big news is that you won't lose your AOL email address. You will have it for infinity. Just log on at AOL dot com and click on mail. Yep, it'll be there forever.

Thanks for all the chuckles this morning. Diagon Alley, trying to cross 192 from the Ponderosa, check in guy from Netherlands, parked by AKL, cheesy duck and random bird popcorn. OT: There are two young guys in our office that say CIAO every time they leave. They are pressuring me to use it. I will never cave. I hate CIAO.

I'm up to the page 17 installment so I can finish this afternoon.

EPLS, LYMI, etc.

:grouphug:

1. and countless shorty socks so I don't look like a complete dork when I wear the shorts.

1. ummm yeah, it's the socks that make you look so dorky. :duck:

2. :rotfl: Very good.

I was spring breaking last week, but I'm back. and caught up. you have my permission to continue.

that is the exact building we were in last time, on the top floor (corner room) lol, and I used the yo-yo alot, never seen anyone back there, so thats where I went, especially when it was pouring out.

as usual, great update.

Connie, I love food as much as the next person, but I do sometimes get tired of having to be at a certain place, certain time all the time. They DID come out with just a counter service plan, but it's way too expensive for just counter service meals. One of these days, if we ever meet up, it will have to be in the red Duncan Yo yo on the fourth floor near the lake.

I have to say, you make it sound very good - yummy choices. Except for that last bit. :sad2: With that, I'm jumping off the hypothetical bus, thank you very much. :rotfl:

Sorry Princess, that bus is not hypothetical.

Sleeping monk in Spaceship Earth. :thumbsup2

The sleeping monk? You kiddin? Ok, that one would have probably been about 264 on my list.:happytv: My second choice would probably be that Carnotaur at the very end of Dinosaur, that sucker makes me jump every time, especially at night when I can see him.

One bright spot here - once you're down here permanently, and go through a summer or two, 55 will start looking mighty fine! :rotfl:

I suppose you're right, still, not after I've driven 1300 miles to get there to escape the cold.

Nebo, funny chapter again. Loved the corny jokes. What corny jokes? Glad things finally warmed up. I remember freezing my tush off too.

Hmm, Finding Nebo, that sounds oddly familiar
Ya tink?

And yes, I am going back to Germany in May for my mom's 95th birthday! She is doing fairly well, but it's a big occasion, and at her age you just never know.

And I am happy to report that DH and I survived the Great Layoff of 2009, at least for now.

Glad to hear you've survived the layoffs, and glad you can go see your mom in Germany, too. Fatherland huh? Even though my Grandparents were born there, and I was almost named after my dad, whose first and middle name were Adolph Gustav, what would that make Germany to me?
Cousinland?

SO, you are saying it was cold:confused: :rotfl2:

Sorry I shouldn't make fun:hug:

I do hope it warms up for you soon! And remember a cold day at Disney is better than any day any where else ::yes::

Sure, laugh at me. I hope when you are there in Aaaaghust!!!! that it is 95 every day!

Yeah, I remember when we got there. Their low was our high where we came from. No Nebo, we don't live in the arctic, but really close.:lmao:

Actually Djay, your climate is warmer then ours, just rainier I think.

I guess Grumpy wears off. Is it some kind of disease when it gets cold and gloomy outside?????

That's probably the benefit of going with the whole family, you don't have the time to relax as much as we do, so you don't feel the pain of nowhere to relax and be warmm at the same time except in your room.

:yay::yay::yay::yay::dance3:: <- My depiction of the arrival of the bus...

This was strange. Usually it's weeping and gnashing of teeth when it pulls up.

I was told if she flew her wings would fall off and a horrible scene thereafer would ensue. Kids running in terror, adults yelling to use pixy dust pixiedust: and the irony of the applause afterward to try to bring poor tink splat back to life.... :scared1:

Angel, even though I loved the Osbourne Lights, I would still rather be hot on my sub tropical vacation then cold, I still prefer early May or right after Labor Day the best.

So....I'm guessing it was cold during your trip! ;) I had to laugh at the Mr. and Mrs. Potato head joke. I'm hoping it's a little cold when we go in December, you know like in the 60's, not the 30's. Brrr. But I would still take 30's-40's over 90's.

We never did have to do laundry. And the last time we were there in December it was upper seventies and eighties every day.

I love the "I don't look good in goosebumps" line!:lmao:

While you were freezing your assets off in MK, we were doing the same in DHS. If there was a patch of sun, we were in it.

I know, trust me, I know. The only difference was when we were at DHS, it was raining, along with the cold. And,,,, if there was a patch of puddle, I was in it.

Hey there!

:grouphug:

Hi Melinda, we've missed you. Thanks for in Netzero info, I was on the website but after reading all I could, figured I better call them first to see what the system requirments are. And it's Windows 98, not 85. Geesh.

1. ummm yeah, it's the socks that make you look so dorky. :duck:

You know, I can't believe how many guys I still saw wearing sandals AND socks. Isn't there a law against that?

I was spring breaking last week, but I'm back. and caught up. you have my permission to continue.

Well thank you my friend, I shall probably do so tomorrow.

Sure, laugh at me. I hope when you are there in Aaaaghust!!!! that it is 95 every day!

95 would be cool compared to normal August heat:thumbsup2
LAst year was bad with Tropical Storm Fay and water up to your knees:eek:

I was on the website but after reading all I could, figured I better call them first to see what the system requirments are. And it's Windows 98, not 85. Geesh.
Mr. Google is your friend :teacher:

The system requirements are:

Windows 98 SE/ME/2000/XP

* 90 MHz or higher processor
* 64 MB RAM
* 20 MB free disk space
* 28.8k modem
* Internet Explorer 5.0.1 or higher
* VGA monitor with 800x600 resolution

Well Mr. & Mrs. Grumpy Gills, I have spent my morning reading you & Smidgy's wonderful adventures! I had fallen far behind having spent a week in glorious Orlando (not to brag, but it was 90 degrees & sunny every day....). As always your musings are cracking me up. Canadian pizza eaters. Using birds as weapons against obnoxious tourists. "Moanin' in the Mist." HA! :rotfl:

In fact this is probably one of the best lines I've ever read on the DIS: "With drink in hand, I then went and spent some quality time with myself in my special yo yo." You are a master of vernacular, Nebo.

Resume.

As I said, we should not have gone back to the Animal Kingdom that night.

Way too painful.

T o start off, my foot was really giving me a problem, and not just the foot part but the ankle as well.

After I returned from my Duncan meditation, I made another drink, prepared a couple of good 'ol Sunny D's for us in the park, and,
took a couple of extra strength vikes.

Then I grabbed two more and stuck em in my pocket.

I know, I know but drastic times require drastic stategies.

I haven't mentioned the vikes much this trip report, at least not like usual, and that's basically cuz I've had everything under control.
But now I'm losing.

Smidgy is now ready, we gone.

Trying to finish our drinks before we get to the bus stop we took the long way through the fifties section around the building and sure enough, there's a bus just sitting there and the last person boarding it.

"Honey, quick!"
"Go throw yourself in front of it while I chug this down." The thing is, we made the drinks in plastic cups, and they frown on you if you try to bring open cups on a bus.
I don't like a frown hanging over my head. And you know, if we didn't have the drinks, there would have been no bus waiting there.
Then we could have pitched a tent.

She didn't see the humor in that line.

She finished hers and ran up to it.

I'm not running ANYWHERE!

But they waited, we got seats, and all was right with the world.

Except that it's only 47 degrees out now.

I have come to believe that most of the time, if your a Disney veteran, you should avoid EMH days at the parks. The one exception to this is AK. It is just about empty even on EMH nights.
THere's really not much to do, all the animals are in bed at dusk, and you pretty much have the park to yourself.

This is why we came back on such a cold night, foot be damned.

On the way there, everything suddenly kicked in, and chugging my last drink made sure of it. Besides, I hadn't taken a vike in a couple days, so now I'm more susceptible.

For the last couple of trips, I always try to sit in the seat right next to the exit door, got it both times going yesterday to MK. This time, uh uh, there is a man sitting there, and I just glared at him. Diane saw this and started laughing, "Oh, the nerve of him sitting in your seat, guess he doesn't know you."

We sat down next to him, and as the painkillers and the drinks took effect, noticed an Asian man sitting across from us. Where in Asia I have no idea, could have been Korean, could have been Thai or Chinese.

And I thought of Diane in the food court.

I swear, it almost came out, but I restrained myself at the very last second.
You know what I wanted to say, right?

"So, what part of France are you from?"

It was close. Dang pills.

Smidgy probably wouldn't have appreciated that either.
Then for some dumb reason, I took the other two pills I brought with. I guess as a reward for keeping my mouth shut.

Checking the times schedule on arrival, we laid out our plan. In a half hour the day guests would have to leave, and all animal exhibits would then close, so we chose the Maharijah Jungle Trek. We were walking hand in hand, with her kinda pulling me along to get there before it closed and right before we enter this room inside, she let go.

This is probably an instict now on her part, ever since the time she slammed my face in a doorway divider going into Terminator at Universal and I haven't let her hear the end of it.

Well, there weren't any doorway dividers, but there was a waste high walkway divider, a very, solid railing, very wide, and bolted into the concrete.

You know what's coming, I've done it before, but this time we were walking with a head of steam up and considering how well my eyes adjust going from light to dark, I was doomed.

Right in Tango and Cash.
More like Timber and Crash this time, I went down.
As we all know, the first thing you do is see who saw what happened, if you accidentally decapitated your head, your head will still look around to see if anyone saw.

A woman cast member was right there and ran over to me. Smidgy saw it too, and knew to just stand there and let the pain pass, but the cast member was another story. She kept asking if I'm allright, and all I can do is squeek.

It was as if my body knew I took the extra pills and wanted to make good use of them.

Or it was because of them.

I finally got up, waved her away, and walked till I got around a corner. Then I slumped against a wall for ten minutes. Man, it hurt, but it does go away.

We finished the tour, then slowly headed over to see Festival of the Lion King. My Sunny D didn't even make it that far.
In Camp Minnie area we had 15 minutes to kill and I wanted a smoke, but we couldn't find an ash tray in the smoking area that we have always used. Oh well, we stood where we have in the past and lit up, the entire area is deserted over here, with the closing of Pocahontas and Granny Willow, there's nothing back here now.

Then I cast member came over and told us to put them out, it's not a smoking area anymore. I got the map out, and sure enough, they eliminated half of the smoking areas. I think there are 3 or 4 left in the entire park. I don't know if this is a cutback on maintennance or what, but we found out that many spots that we always went to in the other parks were now also gone.

You know how in the beginning of Lion King how they make some poor kid make either an elephant noise or warthog or some other animal sound that no one knows how to make?
Well, if they had heard me 20 minutes ago it probably would have made a great elephant sound.

When the show was over, it was dark out now, so we headed to Dino Land and rode Primevil Hurl with a couple of teenage girls sharing our car. Only a ten minute wait.

Then fate struck once again.

The exit of the ride is all ramps, with cross boards every few feet to keep you from slipping I guess.

One of them was really cross, it took down Smidgy.

She went down hard, landed on her hand and now she is in great pain.

She wasn't sure if it was broken, we never did find out, but something in there popped and it started swelling up immediately.

We rode Dinosaur anyway, then left the park. The next day it had swelled up even worse, and still bothers her to this day. I took a picture of her hands the next day, it won't be hard to figure out which one she landed on. :sad2:

The next morning we set the record again they said. 29 degrees!

I was sore, but Smidgy's hand was really hurting. I offered her some vikes, but no way in the world will she take them. She had tried once before, and just hated the feeling the gave her, so she was now grabbing for the ibuprofen I also brought.

This is a non park day. We only have plans to let Smidgy shop around in the stores we never have time for in Downtown Disney, and ressies for T-Rex I think for 1:30, no, we've never tried it, so get to knock off another restaurant off our list.

After picking up a newspaper, I just kinda hung around the room and my Yo Yo that morning, then we drove over to DD. All we had time for before lunch was to visit Legoland, and this place blows me away.

Let's see if I can find my photos from Photobucket.:surfweb:

The first thing to catch my eye were the people right outside the door. I had to look close before I realized that all of them are made out of Legos.

Then we went inside. WOW! The PRICES of them blew me away too. I figured that if you were to buy the legos that made up that display it would probably cost about 30,000 dollars. On the way out we noticed more "sculptures".

Can you imagine buying that "kit" for your kid to put together at Christmas?

Ok, one more here.

And then it was time to eat. Let's see if T-Rex lives up to all the buildup.

Ok, you guys need a big roll of bubble wrap for yourselves this trip. Poor Nebo, I remember the trip you were having to ration the vikes, glad you had plenty this time.

Smidgy! You should have had your hand looked at, at least at an Urgent Care. Please tell me Nebo carried all your packages the next day at Downtown Disney?

I kind of feel bad, why is it when you got hurt, I giggled and almost wet myself, :confused3 but when you said Diane went down hard, I said OMG, I hope she is alright. Needless to say, I am sorry you both got hurt and hope all is better now. fantastic chapter.:cheer2:
