SMASH thread!

Sam mentioned spoilers. Technically, spoilers are anything that is not in the actual episode itself. Some people don't want to read all that other stuff until after it actually airs in an episode. Unless the thread is titled a "Spoiler" thread and people know to expect that outside will be posted, they should be able to safely to read & discuss on a thread only about what has currently aired. So while the Smash Facebook page may be their official TV show page with info about the show, there is extra stuff on there that is not in the current episode, and would be considered spoilers.

Oh I didn't even notice that. I just clicked yesterday. To be honest I still haven't watched this week's but have been reading anyway, so I didn't know. Sorry! And well I wasn't the first one to post it. ;)

not to take this in a really weird direction, but wouldn't that essentially be attempted murder? i mean, people die from peanut allergies. anaphylaxis reactions are no joke.

Oh geez, are we going to go through this again?

I still think there is more to the story. Ellis could be protecting or taking the heat for someone else. I don't think they would let the whole thing out of the bag the week before.
I agree. I'm not convinced that Ellis did it.

But not that he admitted spiking the smoothie. He could have been fired for any number of reasons... saying "someone needs to be the producer" to the producer... :scared1:, or any other "Ellis" thing.
Exactly! In the previews for next week, they could of made it look like Ellis was fired and that he was fired for the smoothie incident. Until we see the episode, we won't know for sure...

OK, I'm going back a week (I just watched the episode prior to this last one) -

I totally get Dev sleeping with Ivy. What would hurt Karen more than him sleeping with her biggest rival?

I also get Derek sleeping with Rebecca. It's not so much that he's immoral. It's that he's Pygmalion - he falls in love with whoever is playing Marilyn, his creation. That's why, whenever he's mesmerized with Karen, he sees Marilyn, not Karen. Same with Ivy, although it's easier to see both Ivy and Marilyn in her case.

It was also posted by Smash on Facebook yesterday.
I'm not on FB, and even if I was, I probably wouldn't go to the Smash page because I don't want "surprises" ruined.

I have no problem with people discussing what's in the current episode, and even guessing what's going to happen next. I simply feel if you're going to divulge information (fact) it would be nice to include "spoiler alert".

It's not the end of the world, just a request.

I didn't post it. I was simply saying where it was seen.

I read these threads knowing I may find out something in advance. Like I said I haven't even watched this week's yet.

Sorry, the "you" I was referring to was the general you, not you you. :rotfl:

I take back what I said about the end of musicals ending in suicides. You people win! :worship: :)

I saw "End of the Rainbow" on Tuesday night, which is about Judy Garland's last shows in London. Guess who dies of a drug overdose at the end??

...Mickey Rooney??? :hyper:

More like he's just a pyg. :p

If people are watching The Bachelorette tonight, too, remember you will have to tape Smash or The Bachelorette.

Has this show been picked up for a second season? Hope so. Katharine McPhee's voice is amazing. Megan H also has a great voice.

I really enjoyed the season finale! It was fun to see Bernadette Peters again~ if or just a few moments. So Julia is knocked up , Ivy may be drugged up, Karen is fed up, and Dev is F*d up...all the makings of a successful Broadway show!

Loved it! It was great to see Karen fight back and really rise above.

I've gone back and forth on how I feel about Ivy..right now I'm back to not liking her at all, and the whole pill bottle scene just reinforced that.

That said, I think Katherine and Megan were cast perfectly in their roles, can't imagine anyone else playing either of them, which is really saying something, I think. Curious to see what comes about with Ellis. Hoping that Karen dumps Dev for once and for all.

i really hope that Julia is not pregnant. that whole story line is just dull as dirt because i don't really care about any of them. of that whole story, i like the husband the best. i don't know what it is, but i just don't give a flip about Julia's character. and having her be pregnant is oh-so-predictable.

i don't think, in the real world, that Karen would ever take Dev back after sleeping with Ivy. but i was glad that she FINALLY had some spunk by coming back and doing a great job. take that, Ivy. and i loved the scene between Karen and Derek. that was the most animated she's been all season (not saying much). more Jack Davenport, PLEASE!!!! ::yes::

i also don't care about Tom and his boyfriend either. they don't seem to have any chemistry or something. it's like they're friends who kiss. although, i thought it was cute how Tom wanted to do some gospel (influenced by the boyfriend). but still. there's something lacking there.

actually, a lot of the characters have no chemistry. Ivy/Karen and Tom/Derek have the most chemistry of any of the pairings.

i'm sure Ellis will be back. he's a worthless, annoying character.

i'd like to see less about their personal lives and more about the show. i liked the earlier episodes where it was mostly set in rehearsals. they're trying to do too many personal storylines. i don't need to know the personal life of every single character.

Other than Karen bucking up and nailing Marilyn, I didn't really care for the finale at all. :confused3

Too predictable, too soap-opera-ish and just blah for me.

Maybe it's just me, but I have a very hard time hearing Derek when he talks. I think it's just the register of his voice, especially when he's talking softer (like when he was with Karen on the floor).
