I was trying to decide which tickets to purchase (number of days, park hopping, magic plus, non-expire, etc)... I know it's not recommended to buy tickets on ebay, but people do buy them... I sell sometimes on ebay... I was thinking even though we aren't going to be able to go for 7 days, I could get the 7 day non expire option... Say we use only 4 days, I can sell the 3 days on ebay, right ?

With the new finger scans, I don't think it's possible anymore.

No, you can't.

That's part of the reason Disney went to the MYW system. Not only is your name printed on your ticket, but your biometric scan is embedded as well. If you sell the remainder of your "days" on eBay and the buyer attempts to use them, the biometric scan will not work, and the CM at the gate will ask to see the ticket holder's ID. When the name on the ID doesn't match the name on the ticket, it will likely be denied at the gate, and the person who purchased the tickets from you will be out the money as well as not being able to get into the park. And your seller rating will likely go down.

Oh I did not realize this!
I looked again at the ebay auctions. It appears they expire at the end of this year. These must be tickets purchased before the bio-scan..
I did not know this. Thanks for letting me know or I would have went and bought tickets.

The "old" tickets were technically non-transferable, but there were no names imprinted and it was fairly easy to re-sell or trade tickets with other people. But -- as usually happens -- a handful of folks totally abused the system by selling fully used passes, by over-pricing them dramatically, or by misrepresenting the number of days left on the pass. And, so .... the ticket folks at Disney came up with a way to help avoid that.

So, what about tickets I bought directly from the Disney store in 2003? I have all but 2 days left on my 7 day UPH pass, as well as all 4 options. I can still use those, right? :confused3 Please say yes, as that's the only reason we've booked our trip this May :earsboy:

Wait... when do they scan your finger and associate it with your ticket??? You order your tickets and get them in the mail, so how do they initially scan your finger?

The first time you go through the turnstiles when you actually use your ticket the first time. Every time after that, you will enter the park by putting your ticket in the turnstile and placing your fingers on the scanner. If the scanner and ticket don't "match," then the CM will ask for a photo ID to ensure that the person trying to use the ticket is actually the person the ticket belongs to.

The first time you use the ticket for a park admission, your are finger scanned...

Never mind... I see two of us were posting the same info at the same time. LOL!

I'd never buy ticket media from E-bay! Imagine getting to the gate and then being told your admission media was not valid! Yikes!
