I just don't understand why some see it as suspicious that Elizabeth lied about who she was to the police, or why she didn't try to get away, or why she was concerned about her abducters. Even if she did all those things it doesn't make her guilty of anything.
Why wouldn't she have started to empathize with her kidnappers? "Emmanuel" claimed to be a prophet or maybe even more than a prophet. Think of the adults that have believed in men such as he was.
How many followers did Jim Jones or David Koresh have? Very few of their followers were forced into joining their religion and I doubt if any were kidnapped. I would be more surprised if Elizabeth wasn't "converted." She didn't have the maturity or life experiences to see that he was deranged. What excuse do those "adults" (age 18-24) who willingly joined the "Heaven's Gate" cult have? Here's a little reminder for those who have forgotten: Applewhite and 38 followers committed suicide at a house in Rancho Santa Fe, California, last week, seeking redemption in a space ship they believed was following the Hale-Bopp comet. http://www.cnn.com/US/9703/26/mass.suicide.too/index.html
