Maybe I should really post this over on the teen board....but I'll give it a shot here. Did anyone watch last night's (1/14/04) episodes of Smallville and Angel. We were gone, and I set my VCR to tape them, but our local station pre-empted them for a basketball game. I like basketball, but was really looking forward to finding out the end of the whole Lex in the asylum storyline. Could someone fill me in, or even better, if someone has a tape, could you send it (or a copy) to me? I'll gladly reimburse you!

I watch Smallville, but not Angel. I'll wait a while before I send you a PM or post about what happened, just in case someone offers to send you the tape.

I was half-listening to Angel while DIS-ing last night. DS watched it, so if you need a summary, I'll write one after he gets home from school.

It had something to do with Harmony being framed....

I was thinking the same thing this morning! I missed the last episode and have no idea what is going on! I do not have it on tape, sorry! Small summary SPOILER: While Lex was in the asylum, Clark visited him. The guy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) who can split himself into 2 people, the guy (bobby drake on X-men) who took Clark's powers by a lighting strike, and the guy who was killing all the "freaks" were all in the asylum. Lex asked Clark to break him out and Clark said no. Lex went nuts yelling and saying he would never forget and never forgive him, he knows his secret. Lana was in rehab (no idea why) and met a new "friend" who helped her get moving. The 3 guys in the asylum teamed up to break out and asked Lex for help $$$$$. Lex was in a room strapped lying down and in a steel brace. Lex had previously stabbed a guard with a pen, hit another guard with a billy stick and ran outside. He climbed up the chain fence up to the barbed wire and then was tasered multiple times. This is why he stapped down. His "father" keeps telling him he is sick and needs to be helped. He is going to put him through experimental shock therapy. Clark finds out about this and goes to help get him out. The 3 guys know Clark will come there and get a meteor rock. While Clark is breaking Lex out they put the meteor rock on Clark and take him to the boiler/power room in the asylum. JTT has split himself into 2 and killed the guy who killed all the freaks. They didn't need him. (this was kind of gross he was lifting weights and as soon as the meteor rock got there JTT could split himself and they took the weight bar and crushed the other guys neck.) Their plan was for Bobby to once again take Clark's powers by electrocution. They did this all the while Lex is strapped in the shock room and his father says do it. This is interruped by Clark getting shocked and losing his power. Clark gets beat up badly, so does JTT (split boy). Clark get the meteor rock and electrocutes the other guy and gets his power back. Lex is then shocked (really distrubing, Lex did a great job in this episode) multiple times. The doctor didn't want to go on, but daddy says DO IT. Clark gets there to save Lex, but it is too late. After this (I guess a few days later) Clark visits Lex and the Luther mansion and Lex (we're led to believe) does not remember anything, just that he had a mental break down. Someone had a welcome home Lana party at the Talon. Clarks mom tells him he should go see Lana. (Earlier in the episode she had a heart to heart with Lana) Clark goes and sees Lana from across the room and sees she has a cane and gets sad. Lana sees him gets sad and walks a different direction. Lionel has video of when Lex and Clark were talking in the asylum and hears Lex saying "I know your secret, don't worry I haven't told anyone". It wasn't a very good episode!!! I hope this makes some sence!

I'm sorry I missed this part! The actor that plays Lex is from a small town about 30 miles from where I live, so we claim him as a "home town" boy. I still have one question....Was Lex ever really insane or was this just something his father brought about to make it seem that way?

skporter Do you know why Lana was in rehab? I'm trying to remember if she was in some sort of accident in the previous episode. Makes me wonder if the actress that plays Lana got hurt somehow and they had to write something into the script for her.

I don't think Lex was ever insane, I believe his fahter was having him drugged! In a previous episode, Lana was helping Clark with Lex, who was hiding out in the stables. He "lost it" and thought she was trying to drug him and threw her against the stable stall door. She fell into the stall with the horse. The horse was freaked up and started to buck...his hooves landing on her legs and "breaking her legs in 4 places".

Follow all that?? ;)

We watched Angel, but haven't yet watched Smallville (taped it).
Angel was just a fun episode, with no real plot movement. It was called "In Harms Way". The Episode followed Harmony around as she tried to fit in at Wolfram and Hart and ended up in a lot of trouble. It was a lot of fun.

We thought it was funny how Lana fell down early in the show when she tried to walk without support because her leg was so weak. Then after a few hours or days she all the sudden announced she was done with physical therapy - even though she still had a cane/walker thing.

Maybe the cute guy she met might make the show more interesting. I'm ready for some new relationship storylines and not quite so much action. I think the Clark Kent/Lex Luthor relationship is one of the most interesting on tv in a long time. I find myself hoping they'll stay friends, even though I already know it won't happen. Guess action gets the 18-25 year old males to watch, though. And - oh yes - he is Superman afterall.

I remember as a child reading the comics that, as adults, Lex and Lana end up together.

I don't think that Lex is crazy, his dad was just looking for a way to squash a threat. And I don't believe that Lex has totally lost his memory either. I think that some will come back and "Dear old Dad" will get his one day. But I don't think that he will remember Clark's secret. Because in the older comics, I don't think that he knows that Clark and Superman are one and the same. And that he turns out as bad as his dad.

I thought in the comics, Lana ends up with Pete. :scratchin
