small white worms?

Also, pantry moth larva look just like maggots. Check everything (even closed boxes) in your pantry to make sure you don't have moths. The moths are small and white and the larva look just like maggots.

Those things are so hard to get rid of!

OP, have you bought birdseed any time recently? We got a horrible moth infestation from some seed we got at PetSmart, and the larva really do look like maggots. It was revolting. We had to throw lots of bird seed and cat and dog food/treats, plus lots of food from our pantry because those moths were everywhere. They were even in closed boxes of things like cake mix and pasta. We didn't have any in our furniture but I would think they'd be attracted to crumbs so if you had crumbs in the sofa that could explain why they were there.

Could they be from the cats? I know we found some on one of our cats a few months ago. Vet said it was a sign on fleas. He gave the cats a shot and we switched to a different flea product and haven't seen any since.

Ew. yes, sounds like maggots.

Be careful though, I hear they can really travel to get back in a house. :rotfl:

This is what I was referring to. ;)

They do! We found them in our garage one night when we were going to take out the trash. The can was outside and they were climbing out of it into the garage so when we got the can out to the street all the ones that fell out of it were going towards the garage. While dh was cleaning out the garage, I was in the drive way pouring boiling water on them to keep them from going in. I tell you it was like a zombie apocalypse, those suckers were relentless in their pursuit. It was the absolute grossest thing I have ever seen

OP. if they were maggots, I'd move. (And yes I am serious, if those things were ever in my house I'd never be right again)

Ill be moving in four weeks, thank god. I had issues with bugs around this time last year too.

We had an indian meal infestation once - we had to call an exterminator, we just couldn't get rid of them ourselves. They had cocoons in our clothing in our drawers & closets - those little buggers ate right through fabric! It was so disgusting! They think they came in a ristra (dried hot peppers strung together as a decoration) I had brought home with me from a trip to NM. Please check all your clothing items carefully as you pack up to move!

Be very careful that you don't take them with you.

Theres no evidence of them being anywere but my living room and all the living room pillows and bedding will be cleaned before I move. The futon is bug free as of now and the exterminator comes tommrow.
