Hi all, arrived back yesterday ..pre planning next trip! we stayed in a villa this time at lindfields, I loved the flexibility this gave us, kitchen laundry etc, not always having to go out to eat etc. villa was great as there were 10 of us, next trip probably be just myself DH and 2 DD's so, large villa not so economical.
can anyone recommend some smaller villas or apartments, condo type things, alll grouped around a central pool would be great so kids could make friends etc, any ideas......... :confused3

A few of the gated communities have communal pools, as do the resorts like . . .

Vistana Villages (IDrive)
Vistana Resort (Lake Buena Vista)
Bahama Bay

These all have large apartment/condo type accommodation, but with the flexibility of onsite entertainment etc.

My faves when we were looking into this (before we opted for a villa) were Vistana Villages and Bahama Bay.

You just need to do LOADS of searching on the internet for rental vacation properties in Orlando.

Have fun!

thanks Annie, now our trip is over I have loads of time to trawl through the net for properties! happy to have a new mission! :earseek:

Hi Claire

Last year we stayed at Cypress Pointe. We found this ideal for our family of 4 so much so we are staying here again in December.

If you do a search on the boards you will find lots of info about here.

Have a look Here for some of our photos of the unit/condo we stayed in.

We're staying at Regal Palms this year (it's a friends house so we got it cheap) but yoy can also get the houses there off Hotel Kingdom. we are staying in a 4 bed townhouse but they do a 3 bed townhouse also.

Have a look at their website for details of the accomodation.....

Hi Claire,
Another vote for Lake Berkley. We've (family of 2 adults and 2 kids) just got back from staying in a 3 bed townhouse there. The house was fantastic with everything we needed including a TV in all bedrooms (which the kids thought was wonderful as they are not allowed that at home!), DVD player, video, 2 full bathrooms and a downstairs toilet, laundry room and fully kitted kitchen. The resort was quiet and secure but only 15 minutes from Disney, and 2 minutes from Walmart (heaven!). We booked through Alexander Holiday Homes on www.floridasunshine.com and paid £630 for 2 weeks rental. The web site shows photos of every room so there are no nasty surprises when you get there.
Hope this helps.

Ali :flower: Still jet-lagged!! :sad2: :sad2:

We have booked at the Villas of Island codo's through this company

http://www.destinationamerica.co.uk/Florida/Apartments/Orlando Kissimmee/villasofislandclub.htm

The company website is http://www.gate.net/~babloo/

Don't ask me what they are like, we are going in October and I will hope to report back with pictures if I can sort out all the "techie" bits!

We got a three bedroom condo for under £500 for two weeks, as you mention, with a larger group or family a villa is best value.

This will be our fist stay in a condo apart from staying at a mate's timeshare at Westgate.

You do have to be careful as some of the condo units are getting a bit old now, villas at Island club for instance is a bit tatty compared with others (I have stayed here) Lake Berkley is nice but a long way out compared with Emerald Island resort which has exactly the same accomodation. I have stayed here www.orlando-rental-home.com for a few times and it is fab rented of a fellow Dis member in England, really taken care of updated all the time in arguably the best resort in the area. Just down the road from Lindfields as well.
