I usually don't ask for good wishes/thoughts, but I have a concern today.

My elderly FIL is taking a trip to Iowa to his girlfriends home. His health isnt that great and his vision is low. He doesn't want any help --we had to hide his keys for someone to even drive him to the airport.!

He hasn't been to an airport in about 10 years! He actually has to change planes in Chicago as well. I am worrying that he can do this on his own. His gate in Chicago is far away as well.

I am dreading that we will get a phone call that he is stuck and lost in Chicago.

He wouldn't go with a wheelchair so we could escort him.

Ooooh, I can relate. My elderly FIL insists on no help either. Its so hard walking that fine line between honoring their need for dignity and ensuring their safety.

Best wishes for your FIL, Cindy.

Here is some good wishes and that he has a safe and enjoyable trip.

Good thoughts coming!!

Do you think he'd ask for help once in O'hare if he couldn't see where he was headed? Maybe with none of the family around, he won't be too proud to ask for help? Just a thought.

Good wishes on the way for a safe and pleasant trip :D .
