Small Irritants

Do you mean if YOU spill the drink?
Or if someone else spills the drink?
If it's someone else, we won't be able to be friends as it's a favorite activity of mine. 😣

No, only if I spill the drink. I am better than that. I simply can't abide the lapse in paying attention on my part.

No runners, are supposed to use the sidewalk. In my state, Virginia, that's actually the law. It's also the law in Maryland and Washington, DC. I'm not surre about your state, but most states consider runners to be pedestrians and therefore require them to act accordingly. My complaint also applies to when I'm walking though. I don't expect two people going on a nice walk to walk single file, unless people trying to walk the other way approach them. Then I expect them to only use half of the sidewalk. I'm shocked anybody would think that's unreasonable.
Interesting, it looks to be true, but appears to only be an issue if there is an accident. I have never seen anyone run on the sidewalk, and there are lots of runners here, it would be like riding a bike on a sidewalk (also illegal). My town is hundreds of years old, homeowner maintained sidewalks with lots of mature trees, running would be very unsafe.

I have way too many to list but yesterday an old lady was browsing the Publix ad in front of the baskets that I needed to get to. There was a bench right next to it that she could have sat and read the flyer but nope just had to stand there.

This adds to the list of why I hate Publix.

Aren’t runners supposed to run on the road? The majority of my town has sidewalks, but people walk on them. Do you expect two people going on a nice walk and talk should walk single file?
I'm generally not a runner and when I do, it's on the road, but for my own comfort, but yes I'd expect anyone to have common courtesy to move to single file or whatever is needed when passing someone. Both have equal "rights" to the sidewalk. Same at a grocery store, when we're passing someone I tell my daughter to go behind me...just simple manners and consideration of everyone not just myself

It bugs me when I rip off paper towels or bathroom tissue and there's a tail because it didn't tear along the perforation.

Also, when ripping off one of those select a size paper towels and one rips off when I need two but then two rips off when I just need one more.

I definitely think people should move, but if they are coming up behind me, I don’t see them.

I'm annoyed by the people who run on the road when there is a sidewalk.

Pittsburgh lefts--when the first car at a stoplight waves the opposing car to make their left turn when the light changes to green, even though the car across the intersection doesn't have the right of way and is supposed to yield to oncoming cars. I've witnessed an accident caused by this and I think it's reckless and when I see people do it I get unreasonably angry. Sure it sucks being the driver who is trying to make a left turn against oncoming traffic, but we have traffic rules for good reason.

I would add to this - other drivers who try to "drive" for me. Telling me to go at a stop sign, when it really is their right of way. Or worse drivers who won't go at a stop sign if someone doesn't tell them they can.

Yep, other drivers who are "too polite." I suppose they mean well, and I can appreciate the gesture, but often their courtesy makes things more difficult for the other driver. YOU have the right of way, GO!!! I'll wait.

So that you get way way more alerts than you could ever want

ETA : I did these 3 to be funny and the forum made me wait a few seconds to post this last one - there should definitely be a pop up on texts for some people that says - "you're texting too much - quit it!"

So... so many but little irritants definitely makes me think of pet owner problems. I was washing one of my pets cages out on the lawn with the hose when a pedestrian walked up. "What ya' keep in there?" "Rats." "You feed them to something?" I think the glare told him I'd be happy to feed HIM to something.

Also solicitors trying to get me to switch energy companies or phone service and they'll knock on my door. Right over my big fat 'no solicitors' sticker... like it's in Greek or something.

Everything people do at the airport and on airplanes.

-On Southwest, why do people line up to get on the plane way before they announce boarding? I've never been a flight where this doesn't happen. Also, if you are in the B or C group why do you start lining up when they call the A group?

-Also on Southwest, when a family has 1 person purchase the Early Bird so they can board early and then that person saves spots for everyone else that gets on later.

-When people take off their shoes on the plane.

-When the plane lands, and 95% of the people immediately jump to their feet only to stand there in the aisle or uncomfortably ducking under the overhead bins and wait 10 minutes for the door to open. I laugh at this every time because you'd think people would eventually learn that getting off the plane doesn't happen instantly, you have to wait for the door to open which takes awhile and then you have to wait for the people in front of you to leave. Just relax for a minute and you'll get off the plane in the same exact amount of time.

-The one that drives me absolutely crazy because I feel like the only person in the world that doesn't do this, is standing right up against the baggage carousel waiting for luggage. There's only so much space around the carousel and it inevitably gets filled up by all the people that line up against it. Now there are people that either can't see if there bag is ready to be picked up or they do see it and can't get to it because people are standing there. Even worse is the family of 5 that all stand up there together, while dad grabs each bag as they come, setting the bag down and waiting for the next one, taking up even more space like they are the only people on the flight.

If everyone just took a couple steps back, everyone could still see the carousel. When you see your bag come around you walk up, grab it, then leave. You aren't saving any time by guarding a spot at the carousel. Sitting on the carousel isn't going to make your bag come any faster. I don't know if this is selfishness and everyone feeling like they need to be first all the time or if I'm the crazy one here?

Cyclists that just took forever to finally pass safely, then I get to the intersection. Light turns red, I stop, said bikers pass every car waiting at the light and get back in front of me again.

People who waste your time in a "training" session, and they know less about the material than you do

Coworkers who don't bother to scroll down to read the whole email before asking you to send them something that is already there.

Yes, that has been my morning so far. Fun times!
Cyclists going against traffic. For some reason this is a ‘thing’ on this end of town. I have yet to figure out the ‘why’ for this but there’s got to be some kind of reason since it’s just this area. So damn dangerous.

My DH spilling coffee every. single. day. in a variety of ways. If anything makes me snap it will be this. The thing is, I watch him and I can see him trying to be careful but it still happens. Every. Day.

The pet food aisles at Walmart. Some of them are wire racks 6 or 8 feet deep. I can see having one aisle like this for large 50 lb. bags of food, but they put smaller bags and boxes on top shelves there and shove them way back. At least half the time I have to be an acrobat and climb or stoop to get to the smaller items.

In my local Walmart pet food is next to cleaning supplies. A few times I grabbed a broom from there to maneuver the boxes forward. One time I broke a cheapie broom. Ooops. Serves them right.

People that bring the entire family grocery shopping walking abreast up and down the isles refusing to give way and then stopping to have a family meeting about every single thing they buy.

Had one of those solicitors show up at my door this summer. I was outside talking to a neighbor and he walked up to my house so I asked him what he wanted. He was from a large cable company, when I said I wasn't interested he asked very nicely, in a small voice, for some water. I felt so sorry for him, looked like he was a young college kid and he said that the company had dropped him and a bunch of other salesmen in our neighborhood in their black uniforms on one of the hottest days of the summer with no water!
