Hoping someone out there can post some pictures of the small frozen cakes you can ask for to celebrate a birthday? Would have loved to have been able to preorder a fancy personalized one, but unfortunatly, we'll be on a pretty tight budget. :sad2: Am I able to order a flavor, and is there an icing choice? Does anyone know what size they are, roughly, and can anyone remember a price? We'll be requesting it for dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, has anyone ever had one there? How was it? :confused3 Any info would be appreciated!

Have you looked at the cake thread? Lots of pics of the unpersonalized cake in the first few pages. It is 6 inches, generally with an edible Mickey disc on top and multi-colored sprinkles. It is offered in vanilla on vanilla or chocolate on chocolate. I think it costs about $12.50, but it might be up to $13 by now.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question! :) I think I'll budget $15 for the cake then (to be on the safe side) and I'm thinking white cake and icing would be my DS5's preference. I did go to the cake thread page, but after the first 12 pages, I had only seen 2 (not pre-ordered ones). I think they both were from different places, and looked a little different from each other. No one had mentioned how they had tasted either. I was hoping someone had been to LTT specifically and had ordered one. Though, maybe they're decorated differently everytime. Alas, he needs a cake on his birthday, and I really can't budget in a personalized one, so that's the plan then. Thanks again!:thumbsup2

I've read the majority of the cake thread over the last month. :surfweb: People have varying reports on the taste from it was edible to it was as good as the specialty cake I ordered earlier in the week.

The most common comment is that it is sometimes still partially frozen when it is served. There is a generally a free cupcake offered at most of the restaurants that you might want to consider since your dinner at LTT will include dessert for everyone else. Just a thought....

If you'll have a car, you can always go to Publix and pick up a cake... or the Sam's Club... not sure if there's one closer than the one on Colonial Drive in Occoee... it's probably a 20 min drive on the new 429 toll rd to WDW.

Budget and all... it will still be a magical trip. Here's hoping some pixie dust makes it your way.

Tootles - I believe a central bakery makes the 6 inch cakes and freezes them for delivery to the restaurants. Differences in decorations is more to do with whoever was decorating them in batches at the bakery then the different restaurants having a "style". Does that make sense?

Like the PP said, people have reported varying reactions to the cakes based on their individual likes. As I said, pretty confident that the cakes themselves are all exactly the same. I think you like what you are used to.

These cakes are from our trip last month:

We usually celebrate a family member's birthday at the LTT and always get their cake. Usually the cake is really good...always got the vanilla cake. One time though the cake tasted stale (in the freezer too long?) but all the other times it was so good that we took the leftover back to our room. By the way anyone have the chocolate version? We'll be celebrating my DS's 18th birthday at LTT and would like to try it for a change of pace.
