Hi- my kids are kinda specific breakfast eaters. Hot chocolate, a bannana or an orange and a slice of toast is it. We will be staying at DLH for 5 days, and I can just imagine how many waffles and eggs will be bought and trashed! Anyone have ideas to feed these little ones short of packing along a toaster and a loaf of bread myself (which I may have to do!) Thanks.

Here's what we're bringing for breakfasts during our trip:

~Bagels & individual packs of cream cheese which we'll keep cold in a mini compact cooler in our suitcase during the flight
~Mini chocolate donuts
~Pop Tarts
~Breakfast bars

We don't like to waste time trying to find places to eat bfast so we usually pack stuff and eat in the room. One morning we'll have a nice bfast at Carnation Cafe though. ;)

Also, I noticed in some pictures on another board that the Whitewater Snacks place in GCH has ½ gallons of milk and individual servings of choco milk and juice. I think we might head there and stock our mini fridge with bfast drinks. :teeth:

What hotel has a fridge in the room? DLH doesnt have fridges or microwaves! :sad2:

wait... maybe you are bringing your own mini fridge in your suitcase, and thats what you use in the room too? Oh!!!! I see. ok, next Q: what kind of mini fridge, and where did you buy it? I bought one at Target that was horrid and smoked so I took it back. It was super cheap, like $25, and no good at all.
Thanks for all the info Im begging off you!

ok, I feel stooopid now. :rotfl: so, Ill have to call them back, as they told me no fridge and no micro.

We stayed at the GCH, they had a fridge in room but we had to ask for it when we made our reservations. My kids are light breakfast eaters too...we bought cereal, milk and fruit and disposable cups and spoons to eat with. My husband and I bought bagels and coffee from White Water or La Brea Bakery.

At the DLH there is a little store by Neverland Pool that sells fruit, milk, cereal and such.. Can't remember if they have a toaster down there or not for use...

I would plan breakfast at Rainforest cafe. You can get a side of toast and a side of fruit, and some milk. There are probably a few other places that would let you order toast as a side as well. For fruit you are probably going to be served cut up fruit chunks, but its still closer to what they are used to eating. There is also the La Brea bakery, which I know has sandwichs, so could proabably make toast. Just ask if you can order it rather then going strictly by the menus.

We had quick fast breakfasts at La Brea (in DTD) a couple of times. My kids shared the french toast -- came with absolutely delicious strawberries (I ate those). DH had the bagel. I remember them selling bananas, etc. (don't remember oranges...) It was yummy. They even sell mac and cheese and pasta later in the day (kids favorites and it was $4.50 which for the area was good pricing!)

Also very yummy for a drinkable fast breakfast as you walk from DLH to DL is Jamba Juice near La Brea. YUM if you like smoothies for breakfast!

I would drop the hotel and stay somewhere where they have a breakfast built into the price. Then you have no problem with the quick bites and you save money.

I agree with this. There are so many hotels that are close to the main entrance of DL that will save you money and offer breakfast. (Acutally, I think that many are a shorter walk than DLH) Personally, the only DL property that is appealing is the GC, if you can find a good rate.

My kids eat oatmeal or yogurt every morning for breakfast. They then finish it off with a piece of toast. We will bring instant oatmeal packets, heat the water in the microwave and then Breakfast is Served! :thumbsup2 (I got so lucky) :woohoo:

WhiteWater Snacks in the GCH would be perfect for you. They have all of the above and something for the parents too.

Buy the refillable mug so you don't have to keep paying for the hot chocolate.

Carnation Instant Breakfast is also good for picky eaters. It has quite a bit of vitamins and is better than Pediasure, according to my sister, who is an RN.

DLH has fridges in the room, in the cabinet the tv is in. The coffee place downstairs has coffee, hot cocoa and individual pieces of fruit but it costs an arm and a leg. There are many food stands in the parks that also sell individual pieces of fruit, but again, for a ridiculous price. I would stop at a grocery store, pick up bananas and oranges, and a box of hot cocoa. You can use a hot pot if you want or order toast and hot water from room service or pop down to the coffee shop and get some. Then eat in the room or as you walk to the parks. For that kind of breakfast I would not spend my precious disney dollars or time at a sit down place. You can stop and get beignets or a croissant or something as you walk through DTD to eat as you walk to the parks for yourself and DH. :smooth:

Then eat an early lunch and either an early dinner and a late snack or a afternoon snack and a late dinner.
