Not everything can go as planned ... what are your small disappointments?

With our room booking we were given passes for mini golf. I *love* mini golf and thought that would be a fun thing to do after Epcot closed at 9. But I discovered the passes are only good before 4 pm. I get the idea - pull people out of the parks in the middle of the day - but if you're going to offer something free, don't put restrictions on it.

Virtually every single thing I have ever been offered "free" by a company has had restrictions of various kinds put on it.

I think most things offered free or at a major discount normally have some type of type of restriction. You basically receive a coupon book that includes the mini-golf. As with most coupons, there are usually restrictions listed.

I see many coupons for entertainment or restaurants in local adds and they usually have to be used for a specific time frame.

Here are some small ones - ALL OF WHICH I REALIZE DISNEY HAS EVERY RIGHT TO DO AND/OR WHICH I HAVE EVERY REASON TO EXPECT TO HAPPEN:

When my luggage takes waaaay too long on DME, like, even past the promised window (yes, I know nothing is "promised")
When they told me they were no longer serving vanilla dole whip.
When they stop the standby line just as we get to the merge point to let FP people through.
When they stop the FP line just as we get to the merge point to let the standby people through.
When the treat I so love and only get once or twice every one or two years is just somehow off this time.
When I see members of other families being unkind to each other.
When one of my favorite elements on an attraction is broken.
When I see trash discarded on scenes in attractions.
When the folks in the room next to us are particularly loud.
When I choose the queue in Tower of Terror that seems shorter but then moves slower than the other.
That time my son's grabby hands were too fast for me and we listened to all of Spaceship Earth in Mandarin.

I was staying in a studio at OKW the week of the Dark Side Races at WDW. One night it poured down rain and my running shoes got wet. I took them to the Turtle Pond laundry to dry them. The bar wasn't open so I couldn't get a drink while I waited:sad2: That was my least favorite moment of any trip since I became a grown up and started taking my family to my happy place. Suffice it to say we are basically never disappointed at WDW.

This is probably the best disappointments list I have ever read.

I was literally crushed when I found out I can no longer get a dole whip swirl with vanilla and pineapple. That was undoubtedly my favorite Disney memory. Can we get a petition started? If they can bring back the original Tiki Room, why can't we get our vanilla back?

Getting stopped at the merge (from either side) just takes the wind out of your sails. It's like being in traffic as one lane is closed for construction. I tailgate the car in front of me so close that the cop can't possibly make the cut-off between us. Is it wrong to say we're with the group in front of us if we've never met them before and speak a different language?

The Great Movie Ride queue is the worst. You think you are right at the front and then realize it's a double snaking line and 50 people walk by while you give them dirty looks.

Thanks for the laugh.

When I'm told on Kali Rapids most get splashed, some get soaked & I get soaked every time.
When my ADR is for 8pm and we're seated at 9:15pm.
When I enter a line which says 15 minutes and after 45 minutes we're still a long ways to go.
When we're next to board a ride, they close it off for 15 minutes because a famous person wants to ride.

That BTMRR will be closed for our trip.
And the Treehouse is closed for our trip
And IASMW may or may not be closed for part of our trip (don't know what the latest rumor is).
And Dinosaur will be closed for our trip.
And Muppets will be closed for all but the last day of our trip.
And ROL probably won't be ready for our trip.
And there's going to be a new Muppets Pizza place, but it won't open until after our trip.

I'd call those big disappointments.

Oh, that's a bummer to us too -- we were finally going to use thsoe on our next trip, but it won't work because we were going to go later, too. Not the end of the world and totally in their rights to do, but yeah, a small disappointment.

No Towel characters in my room when I arrive! :confused3
When the pool closest to your room (at POP) is closed so you have to WALK to the hippie dippie pool :fish:
When I get the room furthest from the bus stop (last building, last room) :crutches:

When your magic band stops working and you walk all the way to your room (see above) only to have to walk all the way back to get your MB fixed

When you see the DME pull up and you know your magical time has to come to an end :smickey:

You're on the parking tram, the safety spiel ends, someone decides to stand up or get on the tram, and they have to play the safety spiel again.

When you pick the line with the most thorough bag inspector on the planet.

Mickey's blue light of death at the Magic Band scanners.

People who don't move all the way to the end of the aisle.

The carpet in Carousel of Progress

Not having my room ready for early check-in (I even said I was going to check-in early, do you not read requests Disney!! LOL)

Just head over to the Poly. They have vanilla at Pineapple Lanai

That time my son's grabby hands were too fast for me and we listened to all of Spaceship Earth in Mandarin.

That's hysterical. It happened to my kids last summer. We're a family of 5, so we do 2, 2 and 1. My now 12 year old likes to have his own car, so my 8 year old twins rode together. One of them picked Mandarin by accident and we laughed our rear ends off.

The monorail is down (as if that ever happens...), so everyone is using the ferry. The people in front of us are the last ones on the boat, we've got to wait for the next one. Which means waiting for it to arrive, unload, then since we're first on, wait for everyone else to load on.

When you check in and BWV gives you a room with a soaking wet carpet cause they just shampooed it...

When that same room has construction workers standing on yout balcony for 2 days painting...
