Small disappointments

We visited DHS with our ONLY goal to participate in Jedi Academy. We got there on time, had our choice of the schedule, and we picked the second show so we could ride Star Tours first. The first Jedi Academy went on as scheduled, the rest were rained out the entire day. The kids held out hope All. Day. Long. By the time we return for our next trip, they will be too old to participate.

Here are some small ones - ALL OF WHICH I REALIZE DISNEY HAS EVERY RIGHT TO DO AND/OR WHICH I HAVE EVERY REASON TO EXPECT TO HAPPEN:

When I see members of other families being unkind to each other.
When I see trash discarded on scenes in attractions.
When the folks in the room next to us are particularly loud.

These make us disappointed in humanity in general.

That Sum of All Thrills will be gone the next time we go that my daughter will be able to ride. She has been looking forward to it for the longest time but it only 47 inches. She will be 48 inches by December but it will probably be gone. I know I need to tell her it is getting the boot, but I just don't want to. :(

I agree with the posters who said no more vanilla with the dole whip.

When I am walking in Future World and arrive at the fountain right as it is finishing its show.

When I am in line for Great Movie Ride, Robert Osborne starts talking about a movie or actor I am really interested in, and THEN the line moves so I don't get to hear everything. GMR is my favorite ride but I also love hearing the little factoids he gives us during the preshow.

When the water isn't jumping in The Laughing Place on Splash Mountain.

When you are waiting for the bus for a specific park (let's say Magic Kingdom) and a bus for every other park and at least 2 buses for Disney Springs comes by before you ever see your bus. Bonus disappointment if no one even gets on those other buses.

And one for nostalgia: When I got in some lame dwarf's car on Snow White's Scary Adventures rather than someone awesome like Happy or Grumpy.

I was literally crushed when I found out I can no longer get a dole whip swirl with vanilla and pineapple. That was undoubtedly my favorite Disney memory. Can we get a petition started? If they can bring back the original Tiki Room, why can't we get our vanilla back?
Well, it didn't work for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - but you can try.
Getting stopped at the merge (from either side) just takes the wind out of your sails. It's like being in traffic as one lane is closed for construction. I tailgate the car in front of me so close that the cop can't possibly make the cut-off between us. Is it wrong to say we're with the group in front of us if we've never met them before and speak a different language?
One day, that car is going to stop for the officer and you're going to have a 100% at-fault accident. Yes, you know it's wrong to tag on to an unrelated party as well.

Oh NO!! That's a BIG bummer! Sorry for your kiddos.:(

When you attend MVMCP and its raining so hard your poncho is wet through inside and out. And then the cloud is so low you can't even see the fireworks, all you can hear are the loud bangs!

When you are reading a fun, lighthearted thread, enjoying the responses, and someone comes along and throws a big wet blanket over the whole enterprise.

I love the citrus part of Citrus swirls - not the vanilla part. For years I could get Citrus only - no vanilla ice cream. Now that's against the rule. Cast members will still do it for you if there isn't a manager around.

So my disappointment? I had to come back to the Citrus Swirl spot 3 times to get my illegal treat last trip.

OHHHH That is the worst haha!

A few more...
-When you are running to try to catch a bus and then realize it has just started to pull away and it was the one you wanted...
-When you have a great fastPass and it rains and the ride closes so you can't use it
-When you can no longer take the Animation class at the Studios - I so loved that place!
-When you have to do a split DVC stay between a studio room and a one-bedroom room at OKW and you make the long trek up to the check in building with your luggage to check out and re-check in and they send you right back to the exact same building and floor to the room right beside your prior room (disappointed mostly in myself for not doing this differently!)
-Nostalgia - When Miyuki (the candy lady in Japan) would either pick none of your children to get a candy creation or maybe worse pick one of your children to get one and the other child is devastated - hahahaha - that is a no-win situation for someone!
-Biggest disappointment of all - having to leave...

Posts 1, 5, and 6 , for starters, May be lighthearted to you but they're issues disappointing enough to those posters to start or continue the thread.

Unnecessary car crashes due to impatience are disappointing to me.

For our next trip -
1)BTMRR under refurbishment
2)Miyuki is gone from Epcot - I really looked forward to seeing her every trip.
3)The fact that they replaced Maelstrom with "Frozen"

From previous trips:
1)Somehow on our last two trips we have had issues with our camera/phones. In 2009, my digital camera died a few days in. I had an iPhone, but at that time the picture resolution was just awful so most of our pictures were bad. In 2013 I used my iPhone exclusively since the camera got so much better, but halfway through our trip some lady bumped into me while taking a picture and the phone flew out of my hands and the screen smashed. I ended up borrowing my daughters phone for the rest of our trip - she wasn't too happy.
2)Food poisoning at Teppanyaki grill
3)My daughter and I lost a day at Animal Kingdom because she got sick.

When DD drops but does not notice missing her entire bag of glow lights that I ordered special from Amazon almost too late to make our trip... on the first ride.

When you're the only woo-hoo-er in your car on test track, as you zoom around the last bend.

When half your Mickey ice cream bar drops and even slides right off that soft-drink lid you've cleverly slid onto the bottom of your stick.

When your resort pool suddenly closes, and reopens a few minutes later - - kills my enthusiasm!

Mr. Potato Head missing from the TSMM queue! I had "one potato, two potato, three potato, four" running through my head in anticipation for the whole walk from the DHS entrance...

I have a pet peeve: how come some effects on an attraction seem to be chronically broken? The Yeti is the worst offender, but there are also very simple effects that they just can't seem to fix. On Radiator Springs Racers at DLR, the tipping tractors have been problematic for years.
