DH and I went out to see this movie tonight. It has gotten pretty good reviews and from reading the "Seven Pounds" topic, I guess I am glad we chose this one.

I really liked it. They speak English through most of it but they do slip back and forth a bit and those areas are sub titled. It follows the lives of two brothers and a young girl from the slums to the age of about 18. Basically it is a love story and that part is well done. I liked all of it but the majority is based on their early lives living in squalor and that is really pitiful.

My husband said it was certainly not a very good movie to promote India and I have to agree. If you like foreign movies you will probably like it. They do a great Bollywood musical number at the end. I would give it a strong B maybe B+.

Thanks for the review ... i must admit that I have been put off seeing it by the bad press that it's got ... but it sounds like something I would enjoy. :santa:

I had wanted to see it, but since we live in a movie dark hole, its not playing around here. I really wanted to see Nothing Like the Holidays last weekend, but that wasn't playing either. I don't have time to drive an hour to watch a movie, so I guess I wait until the DVD comes out.

Thanks for the review.
