Riding on a subway is a way of life for many people. They rely on it for transportation for a variety of reason. Recently someone was completed shocked and surprised that I have never ridden on a subway. I was as equally shocked and surprised that they were shocked and surprised. Surely......I can not be the only person that has not ridden on a subway:scratchin. So I'm very curious today......

Have you ever ridden on a subway?
If yes......when in your life and for what reason?
(multiple choice)

For Me......As I mentioned above, I have never ridden on a subway - I've had no reason to. I'm starting to feel like I should find a subway somewhere and ride it, just so I can go to my grave one day feeling fulfilled for riding a subway :rotfl:

I'm with you Slo, I have never ridden on a subway.....unless that train/Metro in DC is one? I did do that a few times when we visited there. Hopefully when if I ever get to London, I"ll go on that one.
edited to add, since the DC train counts, I've been on that one during a vacation.

Yup we used to take it to go to a certain mall so we could have lunch it was free at lunch and then we would take it back to work We made the mistake one time of doing it when they were having a baseball game and that was not good timing it took us over an hour to catch one to get back to work because we worked right next to the stadium But yeah we used to do it at least once a month so we could go have lunch at the mall
And I have rode it in London too!
I did not have the pleasure of riding it when I was in New York the several times I was up there for work Because my hotel was very close to where I needed to be for work so I didn’t have an opportunity to try their subway system

I spent most of my life in the Boston area, so part of going into Boston involved the subway. As a kid, it was fun, as an adult not so much.

I've also been on the subway in Japan, Paris and London, DC, and New York.

Chicago has public transportation which includes what we call the El, which means elevated, but it goes underground in the loop (downtown). I've taken the red line to Wrigley Field for a Cubs game. I've taken the blue line out towards O'Hare airport. I've taken the pink line from Des Plaines to the city. But it has only been occasionally. :)

I live in the suburbs near Washington DC, so all throughout my life I have used the subway to visit around the city. As a young adult after college I used it to commute for work.

I've used various subways while traveling too. NYC, Philadelphia, Toronto, Montreal, etc.

Edit: Munich and Baltimore too!

Took it while visiting Vienna a year or two ago, figured it out ( ok- wasn’t that difficult!) all by ourselves 🤣. Not bad considering We are more used to riding tractors, excavators, loaders, and combines around here than subways!
