Mainly during trips into and within various cities, from the time I was a youngster to just recently, this hitting all the listed age brackets.

There was also a two year stretch when I used the subway to go to school. I was in the “young adult” age bracket.

Went to college in DC, lived and worked in NYC, currently live in Philadelphia (no longer work downtown but took SEPTA for years), have taken the T in Boston multiple times, used various subways while on vacations in Europe. As a kid I took the subway with my parents frequently in NYC. I'm very used to taking public transportation.

I've been riding the subway into Boston for Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics games since I was 13. Cheapest and quickest way into the city from the burbs!!

Riding subways and other public transit is actually one of my goals when visiting cities. Sometimes as a separate activity instead of transportation to/from some location. DW and I often buy weekend or 3 day passes to sample the various modes of transit.
