We have one fireplace, and we use it all the time in the winter - we love it!! It makes me feel all warm and cozy when it's freezing cold outside.

We have one fireplace. I have some pretty candles in it. We rarely use it. It just doesn't get that cold where I live.

We have 2. One in our finished basement and one in our parlor. They are our main source of heat.

I have one. It's in the middle of the house between living room and kitchen so you can see it from both sides. I use it most of the winter. Not so much as a source of heat, but just because it looks pretty and gives off a great smell. It's nice to walk through the neighborhood in the winter and smell all the fireplaces being used.

I love my fireplace and I used to use it all winter long. But since DH developed more serious lung issues we had to stop using it. The wood scent just hangs in the air and messes him up. (Incidentally, potpourri, perfume, hairspray and scented candles also set him off My house just smells old)
