I saw it multiple times in the theater, I was obsessed with the Titanic at the time (the ship, not the movie). I didn't really care about Jack, but the scenes with the old people and the children about to go down with the ship did get me.

Like Dan, I’ve seen it multiple times so no tears now. I can’t remember originally although I do remember seeing it on the big screen.

I saw it when it was first released and it was haunting. There are scenes that so disturbed me that I can still close my eyes and see them. I’ve never watched it again, and doubt I ever will. I did not cry - I never cry over movies, TV shows or books.

I have not seen it. I watch very few movies as I am too restless to sit still that long.

I have never actually sat down and watched it, but I think I have seen all of it through bits and peices. It doesn't make me cry or anything.

Have seen it several times and find it very sad and eerie. Maybe I cried or got misty the first time, don’t remember, it was 25 years ago.

I've only seen pieces. I was really enjoyed Kate Winslet's work after seeing her in Heavenly Creatures (really cool early Peter Jackson film), and I've always liked Cameron's movies, but the Titanic story itself wasn't a big draw for me. I'll see it one day.

It's interesting that the film draws different crowds. Obviously there's people interested in the wreck, but also those who want to see it for Leo and or the romantic plot.

I do think it's funny imagining some stuffy historian in the theater, keen to scrutinize the film's accuracy of the events, but first having to sit through over an hour of dancing, kissing, and "Draw me like your French girls."

I’ve seen it multiple times. Own it on DVD. No clue if I cried the first time or not.

I so wanted Roses granddaughter to also be Jacks.

I’ve seen it multiple times and like the movie. I can’t remember if I cried when I first saw it, but probably did because I’m a big crier in sad movies.

I’m a bit of a Titanic fanatic. Overall I enjoyed the film but could have done without the silly Jack and Rose story. Totally unrealistic. Rose was a whiny twit and I almost wish she had died, not Jack.

The best Titanic movie or mini series was the late 1950s “ A Night to Remember.” The 1940s film with Barbara Stanwyck was puke worthy.

If some scenes were haunting, be glad they cut a few others from the film, like the dogs in the kennels. (In reality, someone released the hounds, but I think only 3 out the dozen or more survived.)

My grandson has taken an interest in the titanic story. He is 8. I think that’s pretty common as I think my son was about that age when it caught his attention. I didn’t feel that the movie was appropriate but let him watch the first hour or so. He started losing interest when it became more focussed on jack and rose. We watched up to the point where they went to 3rd class to dance and drink. I was explaining the concept of the different classes of the time. Beyond that point in the movie you have nudity and scenes that would give an 8 year old nightmares.

We did watch a one hour documentary which held his interest.

Off topic but a movie that haunted me was Schindler’s list. I saw it in the theater and couldn’t speak for a while after. Just heartbreaking

Yeah, see, I am a huge James Cameron fan, but Titanic is just one I don't much care about. It's like, I know it's a good movie and very well-made, but, eh, I just don't have any feelings about it really.

Saw it in a theater, way too long for me. If I cried it was because I couldn't wait to get out of the theater. I stumble on to it on cable or streaming sometimes, I can't wait to change the channel. I know it's an epic production and highly regarded film, just not my cuppa. :)
