As I put on my smart watch last night to track my sleep, I started wondering how many people have a smart watch and wear it regularly. Now, in 2024, I’d say well over 50% of our patients are wearing a smart watch, and this is for all ages (teens - 80s). So….how about you?

Do you have a smart watch?
How often do you wear it?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I love love love my Apple Watch ❤️. I wear mine every day and my favorite feature on the watch is keeping track of my fitness. I enjoy working out, and I enjoy seeing the data from my workouts. I also enjoy how it stores this data for me to look back on. I also enjoy how my texts show up on my wrist, and that I can answer my phone from my wrist - it’s nice to not have my phone by me all the time. With DD20 3 hours away at school and my parents & in-laws having health issues, I like knowing that I will never miss a call or text from them. I have several regular watches, with very fun themes to them, but I haven’t worn one of them since I got my Apple Watch. I‘ve had my Apple Watch since October 2019.

I do not have a smart watch.
I wear a fitness tracker, but don't consider it a "watch". It does tell me the time which is one of the reasons for it. I count steps but that's all .
I find it wrong a lot of the time on the other things.

I was gifted an Apple Watch by my wife which has since been upgraded to a 3rd series. I like it, I don't use all of the features for it though. I collect watches so often it's in my rotation, if I remember to charge it. Usually I will opt for my plain ol' Shinola or Rolex.

I have an Apple Watch and I wear it every day. I received it as a gift that I didn't ask for, but I like it. I am not sure I get the full "value" of the watch because I mainly use it as a watch (check the time) and as a phone-finder (use the feature that makes my phone beep so I can figure out where I set it down). Those features are probably not worth the price tag, but I have enjoyed it as a gift!

I wear my Apple Watch everyday and it has become my routine. It has proven valuable in a few occasions. Once, I was out walking and left my phone in the car, my son (older teen at that time) accidentally cut himself and couldn't stop the bleeding. Luckily I had my watch and got his call. My boyfriend also wear his daily and nightly to track his sleep with CPAP. My boss (who doesn't even use his iPhone, and still calls email "memo"..LOL) just called me yesterday to asked about getting an Apple Watch to monitor his afib, his health provider has recommended it.

Don't have a smart watch, and haven't really considered getting one. Don't even wear watches, or fitbits, etc, but have been thinking lately about getting a regular watch.
I actually thought a smart watch would've been very useful on our last trip to Universal. Had already stowed everything in our lockers to ride Velocicoaster, when the ride went down, We were over an hour waiting w/o any sort of tech, ability to let others know what was happening, etc.
Otherwise, I always I have my phone, and just use it.

No interest and have never owned one. Talked with a relative over Christmas who has one and asked how they could possibly read texts on that tiny screen? My cell phone is already too small to make typing practical. I imagine that you can only display about 2-3 words before going to the next line. No thanks. Just seems like another overpriced Apple gadget since you apparently have to have an Apple phone to use it.

I don't have one. I've never been good at wearing watches consistently.

My dad is the only one in the family with one (well a FitBit, not really a smart watch). We got it for him to keep an eye on his heart after his cardiac arrest.

My husband bought me a smart watch a couple years ago for Christmas. I had never mentioned that I wanted one and have only worn it a couple times. I don’t really like it. It’s big and clunky looking plus makes your wrist sweat and I can’t even read it without digging out my readers all the time.

Don't have one but wouldn't rule it out. I do like a tech toy, I'm just not certain exactly what I'd do with it. I have my phone with me at all times.
