For summer vacation about a month ago, we took a European bike and boat tour, a cruise of the Danube River. Ride bikes along the river in the day, spend the evenings on the boat. We visited Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. Basically got to see Fantasyland castles and villages in real life. Rode about 30 miles each day. It was wonderful.

Time to save up for a Rhine River bike and boat cruise in two years.
I ride an E-bike and go on bike trail rides often. We rode the Acadia Park carriage road a few weeks ago. In April, we also did the Amstadam Tulip Boat Bike tour and loved it. Looking to do the Danube next.

did you use a tour company for your trip? we used Freedom Trek for Amsterdam.

I bought a bike last year. I mainly ride around my neighborhood with my grandchildren but a couple of nights a week I will go for a ride with my son and grandaughters on the local rail trail.

The closest I'm going to get is the stationary bike in my office.

I have a bike. When we moved to this neighborhood several years ago, DH saw all of the trails (paved) and thought it would be great if we all got bikes. He got me this beautiful blue Electra Townie cruiser (see below- not my pic, but looks like mine). Now, I know how to ride a bike, but I'm not stable enough to handle the trails...especially with oncoming traffic (other bikes and people on foot). I'm OK when I have more space, but I get spooked with the traffic on the streets. In any event, I had the bike for about 3 weeks...went out for a ride with my girls...I jumped off several times to let others safely pass because I didn't trust the spacing...and then shortly after, crashed into a tunnel under a busy road. The bike was OK, I had minor issues and DD18 took it from me for a while (she preferred it over hers)...even added a basket, but that didn't last long. It's been sitting in the garage unused for several years now.

I do not go on bike rides, even though every other single person on my street does.

My DH ruined it for me. He bolts ahead of me and then finally realizes he's too far ahead and then waits while I plug along to catch up. Once I do, he picks up riding and bolts again. So, I end of riding without a break alone and he gets a nice break every time he waits for me.

I tried and tried to talk to him about this again and again and he never changed. Bolt. Rest. Bolt. Rinse and repeat. I refused to ride with him for years. The last time I rode with him was the summer of 2020. Because of Covid, I thought it was a good way to get out and get some fresh air. We rented e-bikes which I thought would be OK since I would expend less energy pedaling. He still did the bolt/rest/bolt thing. Even though I was riding an ebike so it was easier to peddle, I still ended up getting left in the dust to plug along while he rested.

That is the last time. He has asked me to bike with him multiple times since and I just say "no". Plugging along with no rest is no fun.

Edited: I did ride an ebike last year *without my DH* because we were down to only 1 car and I needed to go a couple miles away. We live near two ebike rental racks.

Timely post. Two weeks ago we did a house cleaning and took at seven bikes we had to the dump. My old Schwinn Varsity that I bought for $92.95 new in 1971 and had to wait for during the big 10 speed bike shortage.
My wife's 10 speed was almost as old. Also the two huffy paperboy bikes our kids took to college, two 15 speeds they won 25 years ago in a Little League raffle, and a tiny kids bike.
We had considered getting back into bike ride, but we walk. Every few months my FB feed has posts from people of my age crashing their bikes and breaking bones or worst. Potholes seem to be the major cause. But at 67 I don't need broken bones.

When we moved out of hilly Pittsburgh area 3 years ago I bought one of the above mentioned Townie cruiser bikes. The pedals are somewhat forward so when I stop I can just put my feet on the ground. It has 7 speeds. Ride it for fun and a bit of a workout. I would ride it more for errands but I don't trust that it won't get stolen, even when locked.

DH and I ride bicycles for leisure in our neighborhood two or three times a week from spring thru fall.

We often take them with us on spring and fall weekends to Ocean City, Maryland.

I ride a bike more when I lived in NYC than where I live now in the suburbs. I don’t even have my bike anymore. Dh rides his occasionally.

I like to go for a nice ride around the neighbourhood on a summer evening after being cooped up at the office all day.

But I refuse to bike to work. I don't like biking on busy streets, etc. I have several coworkers who are avid bikers who often try to tell me to bike to work. Just nope.

Last time I rode a bike was when I was in college. Haven't had a desire to since then. I'm not very well coordinated, so I don't think it would be a good idea for me to get on 2-wheeled transportation these days. Haha!

DH and I have had bikes for many years and ride them at least once a week. Sometimes just through the neighborhood, other times at a local park/nature preserve and/or bike trail. We have a bike rack for the car to take them to other areas. We find it relaxing and it’s good low-impact exercise.

Yes, we went with Rad + Reisen Eurocycle. They were fantastic. Great cruise director, attentive hotel and restaurant staff, awesome tour guides. We plan to book with them again.

I don't exactly go on bike rides... just the exercise bike in the basement. As far as a real bicycle, I bet it has been 30 years since I rode one.
